I would go with a Bogner Fish and use the ecstacy power section. Thats what I am goin to do. Thats seven channels of Bogner heaven :rock:

If not go for an Elmwood M90 or M60

Have you played the Fish? I am a huge fan of Cantrell, but my XTC seems to do a pretty good job at those tones at the moment. What the cost of the Fish Reissue?
 
How about a 5150/6505? Your XTC covers all the other bases except the grinding bro0TaLz toanz. It'd be easy on the wallet.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. Decided to go with a Soldano Avenger. It's supposed to be a little bit more modern than an SLO, without the treble/sizzle that is so hard to dial out (unless it's cranked real loud).

I heard that term thrown around before i ever played a Herbert. After playing one for a few days i think i understood it. It's just the feel i got from it. I liked the Herbert, i thought it was addictive to play especially at lower levels.

Maybe I'll get flamed but i thought an early 2 channel Recto with a boost could match anything i heard from the Herbert. That's not a bad thing since i think some of those old Rectos are just killer when boosted.

It is very "vintage" sounding, in a robo-gain sort of way. Awesome low-mid chunk, very clear (if you don't abuse the ridiculous amount of gain).

i 2nd what he said! absolute to a T! MC100 is the big bad monster! I am also always at home and perfectly comfortable with a M90!
