I've bought this amazing amp!
I'm so happy I've tried in a studio with different cabs at very loud volume and It is a beast!
In the video it was a real fast clip at home I've tried it with my "2X12" cab with only one 25w GB and his power attenuator, no effects and no pedals in front.
I don't understand why on internet there are so many bad reviews, the amp is an hot rod marshall style amp with a little bit of old boogie dna, and the clean is very beautiful.

I've always been intrigued by these. The popular move on the internet is to bash them, but I'm skeptical of that. They are perhaps not the most reliable amps in the world, but I've seen enough to believe the tones are good. I'd really like to check out one of the single channel ones, I don't need a clean channel.

Badass, congrats!

My old drummer has one; it’s ok but I’d put it behind any 800 + a pedal. Gets its best tone up very loud; like most amps but can be super buzzy below a loud threshold.
The molex connector issue must be taken care of or you may need a fire extinguisher.

The power attenuator inside the head is very natural but obviously It must be set to move the speaker and after you have a very good tone

I've had my VL-1002 since '96.
It is a beast. Yeah, it had some production issues(Molex connectors being the main one).
But, those can be fixed.
I prefer to run it with el-34s or 6Ca7s for the power tubes.
One thing about the VL-1002, is it's fantastic string to string definition, even with
a ton of gain. Also, the clean channel is exceptional.
I haven't seen a video on Youtube that does the amp justice.
Yes; you have to turn it up to get it to sound good.
Running it through the right 4x12 makes a huge difference as well.

True!! I've tried with three different cabs and I like it most in a 4x12 with a mix of Lynchback and Vintage30

@Matte23 if you don't mind my asking, where did you pick that up at?

I got it from a gentleman in Bologna (Italy) who had 4 and also an XLA1000 as well as other various heads.
Cool! I was just curious because I sold mine to Guitar Center not that long ago. It also had the molex connectors replaced, etc. I thought maybe it was my old VL, but sounds like we're on different sides of the pond. LOL

?These amps are well known for catching on fire. ?

I really wanted to like this amp when it first came out because Ampeg made great shit. But it sounded like the Carvin, aka, bad shit.

If you like the Marshall TSL100 or Genz-Benz Diablo, or Shitty Kitty Hawk, you should definitely consider buying one!??

Yesterday I've installed two Celestion V-Type in my 2x12, so I hope in the weekend to do some video and test the cab with my two amps the VL1002 and the Pittbul 50/12

I remember these got a big push in the early 90s between the release of No Rest for the Wicked and No More Tears. I think Zakk Wylde appeared in the ads because he had really pushed the Metaltronix stuff on No Rest. These were Lee Jackson’s swing at big number production from a major manufacturer. I played through one at a music store back in the day and remember being really impressed. Like many amps, it is of course entirely possible to dial up a horrible tone - but a good player with good ears can have a go at the knobs and find a really nice sound.

The cab I think that pairs up exceptionally well with the VL-1002, is a Diezel 4x12,
with Celestion V30s and Emminence D12V8s, in a X pattern.
