Ampfest 2010.....Featuring the NATAS :)

Hey guys this is Brandon, I was the guy with the blue esp in "drop q"  I just wanted to pop in and say thanks and that I really enjoyed the ampfest. It was really nice to finally put some faces to the names at HC, as well as meeting some of you RT guys

I think everything has already been covered in here, Mike builds some ridiculous amps. They are both mean and clean. Can't say enough about the versatility of each of the amps. They go from the meanest tightest rhythm tones to the most pristine cleans. Each amp has its own nuances yet they all have very smooth singing lead voices. Thanks again for coming down Mike I wish I would have known about the fest a little earlier, I'd have planned better and brought some more gear lol. But all in all I had a great time.

how's the Natas voiced?

big and boomy like a Recto or Herbert?

Marshall times a zillion?

The Natas is voiced very unlike any other amp I've heard, yet it shares qualities from many other amps.

I will dissect the amps tone as best as possible:

The bottom end has the girth of a Bogner Uberschall, but is not tubby or loose.

The tightness of the amp is akin to the Engl Savage 120, but with a quicker focus on the fundamental, like a VHT.

The low midrange reminds me of a 5150, in the fact that it has a growl, but never gets bloated sounding.

The high midrange is voiced like a 5150 III, in the Marshall territory, but it cuts without sounding smeared.

It basically is the conglomeration of the better qualities of all the high gain heads that are worth listening to, without the shortcomings.

Man oh man, the Natas looks fuckin great! It will look great with my black and green Meathead in my bedroom!!
;)  :D

Its got its own thing going on, thats for sure. But in comparison to the amps you listed, much closer to a Marshall, due to its biting upper mid response.

Ride back was not as bad as in, still 3+ hour cruise  Kage lives on a total party street now and if I did not need to be home it would have been much longer

About the Natas's tone and throwing Mesa out there..........you would never know a recto was turned on if it was sharing the same stage as the Natas. Strong hyperbowl words but I stand behind them. Of course you can work together to get them both in the mix but the focus of the natas is just insane, it was starting to hurt in that room and bailed several times.

Mike's own line is not marshall based, something that needs to be said again as they are more modern but without the silly stupid compression. It has the mids but different.

Cosmetically, the red faceplate looks much better than I was expecting, and the 6irth, 6rind, 6ain is a cool tribute to the name of the amp.

The NATAS reviews are exactly what I thought they would be.

Sounds like a blast. Hopefully I will get to play a NATAS soon... :poke: ;)

At one point Nick was playing this riff that was simular to one of your vids and I looked at Ralph screaming due to the volume that it sounded just like your EP but even more defined!

You would destroy on that amp Jason with your monster right wrist

It's not the volume per say...The amps just cover everything....in a big way!!! It's hard to explain but now that you guys have played them...I think you know what I mean... :D

finally finished converting these and editing

sorry guys I didn't take many vids I set the camera on the side recording and it ran out of batteries and memory

I figured the 20 other guys there took video since we got there late ...guess not

not the best quality but its better than nothing enjoy

Thanks for posting the photos and videos ...

Looks like a lot fun. I knew I would want both the Natas and Meathead.
