Yes, I did the same as you...fully loaded with all the options.
I play in two bands. One of the bands plays a wide variety of stuff from 90s rock, classic rock, modern country, pop...we really just play anything fun that gets the crowd dancing and singing. I have been using my Tremoverb a bit more with them as I hit the clean channel on a few songs and prefer its clean with some reverb. What I miss when I use that though is the different gain levels I can get on the QR.
I am thinking the new QR in Gear 1 with B+ on and switched to new will cover that band very well. Gear 2 when we hit a few more modern angry tunes.

For my more rockin band we do stuff from 80s rock to much more modern and heavy stuff. GnR to Papa Roach as an idea of the range. There I think the 80s stuff will call for the old switch to bring on the aggressive mid bite. Drop er down with the mid cut and new circuit for the modern stuff. I know that mid cut is supposed to take the amp towards the Nitro, but I have to imagine it will still be different and lack the huge low end the Nitro is voiced with. But I do hope it fits better for those Drop D modern tunes we do as its the only spot in that band that I feel I would rather have the Tremoverb kicking. Not setting up for two heads though.

Yup, Ive been through 5 or 6 Splawns...i still have my 3 pre one. Years ago I started the Splawn Forum. So I've been through a few, sometimes I get the itch to try something new, but always seem to go back. I love the idea of the B+ option on these new ones

Cool beans. I am nitrous12 over there. So I will be very curious what your take is on the new/old switch and how it does to take the amp back to that 2006 era with authenticity.
I love the pissed off aggression in the Quickrods and with all the comments that the earlier ones were even meaner I was always curious and was tempted to buy one.

Nicely played.

Are you ditching the 5153 in favor of the QR for gigs? Slave? Stereo? W/D...?

Curious asses (like me) gotta know!

Awesome.

Like I told peckhart - we need honest neutral no honeymoon unbiased opinions from you guys OK?

Cool. I'm Splawndude over there - do you still hang out on there or no?

Very curious about these new Splawns. I still have 2. One's a Splawn modded Superlead and an' 05 QR. I too have tried a lot of different amps but always come back to the Splawns.

Interested to see how the old switch works with classic tone trannies

Nice! I just bought an early QR/modded Marshall from '04.

Splawns for all!

Congrats! My new Competition is about to ship! 50 watt with the New/Old and Mid Cut switch small headbox in boa. It's replacing my Street Rod! Loved the Street Rod but it was a little bulkie and hours were racking up on her!

Hey sir, yeah that's the plan...i gigged with a Splawn QR and a Nitro for YEARS...then felt the itch to try something new (5153)...but this B+ option has me intrigued. I'd love to to do W/D but just can't bring all that equip to a gig. So it'll just be a head and cab.

coolness and congrats.

I have a Splawn modded Marshall 1987 with OD1/OD2, HI/LO, solo boost switching, KT88's. Its pretty badass!
