What's the Harman a clone of, a Ross?

I believe the Hartman is a clone/interpretation of the the original Electric Mistress.

Old MXR and Boss BF-2. You can't possibly beat the bang for the buck out of either of these.

The key to this set-up is that when your effects are not being used, they will be out of the signal and will have minimal effect on your sound.

I’ll to explain the logic behind the way it’s set-up.

The Axess FX1 controls Amp channel switching, Floor effects (GR-X4) & Rack effects via MIDI.

The Axess GX-R4 controls the floor effects (on/off) & also acts as a buffer and true bypass for all the floor effects.

All floor effects are plugged into the Axess GX-R4 for true bypass and buffer (when any of my floor effects are engaged a good buffer will help to keep the signal clean with minimal tone suck)

MXR EVH Phase 90 or Phase 90 script into Loop 1.

MXR Flanger (Will never leave my board) into Loop 2.

Fulltone Deja Vibe into Loop 3.

i love flange. imo, no one flanger does it all. i've had an mxr, ada, hbe frostbite, ibanez airplane/gilbert, and bf3. i kept the bf3 and have 2 ada flangers. I'd like to have a hartman and fl-9 as well. a man can never have too many flangers :)

I'm feeling a lot of love in this post...

I'm sticking to my original notion of going with the 4 button M117R, NOT the EVH model, just the grey unit as per the above pic...

Thanks Gents!!

Anyone here heard of Retro Sonic Phasers?? My tech is sending one along to try on my new board - says it'll destroy the vintage 90...

Thoughts?

don't need this to swell into a top-line boutique discussion of the Hartmans ...

...Bottom line, who's using what for analog/true-bypass Flanger and Phaser and why?

I'm using... a Hartman. :D

It's got a great tone, really lush flanging that leans towards chorusy sounds. The only issue with it is that in some setups you get clock noise - either an occasional tick, or a little quiet squeal... Sometimes it's been dead silent, sometimes it only happens if you turn on a certain pedal either before or after it, sometimes it's always there. Quite a commonly reported issue.

So I'd recommend one for the tone, but I'd suggest getting it from a place that'll do a return if it happens to be noisy in your rig.
