Yeah he is a monster player. Never a bad riff or lead. Still can pull it off live. What more needs to be said? Yet another reason why age is not an excuse to sucking. I keep missing them when they come to Montreal but i better get on that in the next year or two because I am not sure how long they will tour. King sounded decent here too!

Agree, one of the best metal acts period! Huge MF KD fan I am! I have to definitely see them.

Andy LaRocque is an amazing player!!! I was and still am a huge fan of Abigail, Them, Conspiracy, and The Eye !!

He's a beast - was a nice dude the 2 times I've met him.
A friend of mine is doing FOH for them on this tour - hoping to catch the local show..

I haven't listened to much after puppet master (which was pretty solid), anything good I should check out? Abigail, Them, Conspiracy, the Eye. Those 4 albums are easily their best work. There is some gems here and there on later albums but those albums just kick so much ass.

Just caught them last Friday. He really does still sound great live.

Fatal Portrait (the first solo KD record) is just as good as any of those, though not entirely a concept album. It's also 98% falsetto vocals, but i do love that album.

I just thought it was genius having the roadies in monk robes as they take away the acoustics... ;)

Andy is one of my biggest influences! After litening to King for over 20 years, it was AMAZING to finally see them live for the first time last year. Such an amazing show!

Not to take away from the thread, but you guys into MF also ?

The beginning, Melissa, and Don't break the oath are some of my all time favorite albums. :rawk:

I put Melissa as my favorite metal album ever. Oath isn't far behind... Just don't like the production of it as much

One of the most underrated players...amazing songwriter too. The solos on the early KD stuff were amazing and fit so well with the concept of the albums. Neoclassical shred mixed with 80's pyrotechnics. Great sense of melody and always killer live. Should have been a bigger name when you consider his talent.

Love Andy's playing. His tone on Conspiracy was just ripping!
