A couple things stuck out at me though:
1) I find it hard to believe that was the first time Andy has ever played through a Marshall amp. BS! No way, with all the touring and travel he has done...being a tone freak.
2) Near the end of the article, The interviewer says how great it is that Andy took an oldschool approach, using
a SM57, and how great tones can be achieved just through placement and a SM57. How an inexpensive mic can get you those tones.
C'mon man! You can use any shitty mic when you have a Neve console. They are the most warm tones of any mic preamp. I love those things. And might I add....NOT CHEAP!!!
3) '68 PLEXI = TONE! Bottom line!
