Annual North Carlolina BBQ, Beer, and Gear April 14th 2012

I HAVE CHANGED THE DATE FROM THE 7th TO THE 14th because the weekend of the 7th is Passover and Easter...SORRY GUYS!! I have 4 kids and there is no way I can do this on Saturday and have a dozen guitar bums at the house Easter morning... :lol: :LOL: :D

Well that time is fast approaching once again!!! This year it will be Saturday April 14th, 2012. I will be renting out the clubhouse again as I did last year which can house around 200 people. This year I will try to setup some known good electrical outlets beforehand, vice finding out after we setup a bunch of amps!! LOL. For any that are interested, just drop a line here. I will send out a few personal invites to the local builders again....last year we had quite a list!! Ron Thorn flew in, Jack Briggs, Ossie and Greg from 3 Monkeys Amps, Stu from Fatsound, Stike from Rowyco Custom paint and a few others I cant remember off the top of my head...the entire Maryland contingent made the trek, we had my buddy Dave drive down all the way from New Hampshire!! It was truly a GREAT time for me and seems to get bigger and better every single year!

We like to say its about the guitars, but honestly its more about meeting up, having a few beers, having some good BBQ, and just kicking off the summer with a handful of mojo!! Anyone is welcome to join in....if anyone needs ANY HELP I am more than happy to do all I can!! I have some room in my house for any that cant swing a hotel and need a place to crash!!

Here is a quick cut and past of a list of hotels...

Last year we had probably 8 - 10 people crash all over the area...with assorted price ranges..LOL. I am literally 5 minutes from RDU airport so there are a BUNCH of different hotels.

Ed and Wayne stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for under 70 bucks and there is a Hooters right across the street!! LOL

The Hyatt is a little more upscale but is an extra 20 dollars...

The Sheraton is literally less than a mile from my house and lists rooms at 98$ and there is a Jimmy Johns, Starbucks and a high class Mexican restaurant called Mex within 6 blocks

I know that one of the guys last year stayed less than 3 miles from my house for under 60 bucks...cant remember which one it was. If you search for hotels near RDU airport, pretty much ANY of them listed that are in Morrisville are less than 5 minutes from my house. Also, if anyone flies in and needs a ride, I am more than happy to be your taxi for the day.
 
I'm interested. I live about 60 miles east of Raleigh. Hopefully work will allow me to attend this year. Thanks for organizing and hosting this.

Seriously, anyone who wants to attend and wants to drop something in the mail vice take it on a plane, I can shoot you my address and am happy to drop it off at FedEx for you later that week...the main distribution center for the Raleigh area is right nearby...so I can drop anything off on my way to work...but DEFINITELY dont feel obligated to bring gear, as there will be at LEAST 200 guitars here and at least a few amps....its more just a kick off to the year than a shredfest...guys have shipped guitars and amps in every year, and then ask themselves why they did afterwards...

Kyle might, just so he can show off what he has built...give all of us severe gas for sure...

Well, I work in Greensboro and live near High Point! I bought tcrash's XTC that I've got up for sale...
 
I definitely want to come...I'm in High Point so its not too far away.
I'll try to bring my buddy Harris (hthomas) too!

No beer for us youngins, but the BBQ sounds good :thumbsup:

Noted the date change, and now it's close to my birthday on the 17th....hmmmm, mini-birthday vacation? :D

As we get closer we'll see how my schedule looks. I've always wanted to get out to Raleigh, and since James is out there now too, I'd love to check out the SSL.

He is hoping to send out 3 of them, but we will see...was hoping he would fly out but he is sending a few guitars which is the important part!! oh yeah...this looks very very promising :) only an hour and a half away....beer....barbq.....alot of gear sluts that like guitar amps and studio things...yes please.
