Hours and hours of fun. This amp does any and all high gain tones. leads fly off the fretboard effortlessly, the touch sensitivity is great. I had a kali, and I much prefer this to that. order one if you are getting a Gower, you will not regret it!!

The KK++ violence mode is similar to the Rockmonster, but you also get the lower gain Cali plus more!! If it is all gain that you want then there is nothing better than the Rockmonster.

Gotta say that the clip I heard sounded spectacular! How is the feel? I know you said the feel was effortless to play on but anything like a Cameron? Always hard to tell that from clips. Sure sounds amazing, though.

The clips sounds awesome!! This is Dan's description of the Rockmonster compared to the KK++.

The original Cali Mod was 3 stages + diode clip and was like a variation of Jose's mod.
The KK++ is the Cali but instead of diodes it has the extra tube stage. So the KK++ is like a Cali on steroids IMO. Lots of gain but open sounding and not majorly compressed.

The RockMonster has 5 gain stages and overall probably the same amount of gain on tap as the KK++. But since this is 5 gain-stages, it has some extra compression and a thicker tone too.
It's midrange has that singing quality when you play solos and it cuts like a knife in a band mix, but it's definitely more of a wider/beefier sound overall.

I have been wanting a Gower mod for a while now. All his amp mods I have heard sound amazing.

I would like to see Gower get his own form here on rigtalk.

I found 1 clip on YT are there any others out there?

Well I highly recommend Dan's work. It is second to none. I know it is expensive to send an amp there, but it is worth it. The other option is to get Dan to source an amp there in the UK. Now only if we can get Dan to move to the good ole USA or even Canada!!!

Two weeks later, and still loving it.. This is BY FAR the best modded Marshall I have played. I had a Cameron Aldrich that was really awesome, but I actually prefer this to that!! This Rockmonster mod is just ridiculously fun to play. The touch sensitivity is there, and it is nice and punchy. Amps that are really punchy usually, at least in my experience don't have that really light touch sensitivity, but this mod does. When you hit a fat E chord you can hear all the notes clearly and they remain distinct. I have to get some sort of recording apparatus to get this thing recorded and get some clips for you guys. All there is now is the two clips Dan did when it was his amp. It is a 100 watt 79 JMP, but, he can do it with other amps also. I asked him. Anyone in the bay area who wants to check it out, let me know.

oh man, having so much fun with this amp!! the depth knob is a push/pull for a mid bump or bass boost, jst using the push/pull completely changes the sound and feel of the amp. either position and it is super fun. with the bass boost in the out position, leads are really fun, so much touch sensitivity, yet no mushing out and the amp keeps total definition and clarity. thanks much Dan!!

its been another few days, and still experimenting with different tones. this thing can do brutal metal, or spot on 80s rock. so MANY sounds in this thing!! I actually like this better than the cali!

If anyone in the san fran bay area wants to check it out, let me know. maybe we could meet up or something. it sounds, plays, and feels incredible!!
