But, I never heard pops and crackles in a 24 bit digital audio track? Part of vinyl's lure. So, I would think it would be very easy to tell.
Allow me to un-confuse you, put the pops and crackles in the 24 bit audio.Ta da.

Why would you do that if the whole purpose of digital is too get rid of that. I'm not confused - it seems ridicoulus to go digital, and then buy equipment to make it sound analog.
Yer just a pedalpro vintage revolution pimp...

I know yer kind.

I actually think I could own either the Axe of Kemper and be very happy.... just not analog happy ;)

But my back would be happier I'm sure with the modelers. :D

Analog vs digital, vs modeling... This vs that.... NAH!! It's a matter of what tool/tools do it for you. They ALL have a place.

We've all seen/heard guys w/ pedestrian and even lame gear-- sound amazing, and guys w/ great gear blowing chunks, and scratched out heads wondering, wtf.

The point of it ALL, is to make music, w/ gear that does it for us.

Agree... I categorize gear folks in the following categories:

Beginners (self-explanatory)
Hobbyists (Always wanted to learn to play and do so for their own joy)
Weekend warriors (Jam w/ buddies for fun)
Semi professionals (Have full time jobs outside of music, but still gig for money on the weekends etc...)
Professionals (Primary source of income)

Collectors (Generally, those who drive up the cost of gear for the players the gear was designed for, and sometimes act like just because they can afford it-- That somehow it makes them an expert.)

In a few years there'll probably be a Kemper app for the iPhone that does everything the current Kemper hardware unit does. But better.

Those are Mackie DLM8's. 2000 watts each (prolly more like 500) but together they fill the hall. They weigh 21 lbs each. That's the Axe rack below them. I am old and have no shoulder cartilage left. This is about as much as I can/want to carry anymore.

Nice rig! Aren't those Mackie's like $700.00 per speaker?

The retailer gave me the option of denying the shipment if I decide to go with the KPA head, but this looks like a great setup! I hope I'm doing the right thing by getting the non-powered rack? Would be nice to just plug into a cab with a powered KPA rack, but the powered version is a mono only amp, for whatever reason... It's arriving today via UPS. :)

$599 at Full Compass but I paid $699 before I knew that.

You might like the FRFR thing. Some don't but I love it. Then you can get the cab sims as well as the real high highs I get from some of my more esoteric stuff, like synth pads and cello.

The Kemper has an awesome pitch shifter as well as some great acoustic sounding stuff. Need full range to really take advantage.

Here's my live test of the DLM's. The DLM's are right behind the guy, those boxes at the sides of the stage are subs for the house.

I EQ'd some of what the cam mic lost back in here:

Sounds great!

Sweetwater has some powerhead KPA's in-stock, but I think I'll stay with the KPA rack. I'll get Brady Cases to make me a 6 space shock-mount. I'm thinking; Furman power, Line 6 G90, KPA, MESA 20/20, and a patch-bay = done!

Throw two of these in and you're done. Unless you're going FRFR cab that is.

Check this out! Looks like these come in both powered and non-powered.

Well hell yea, the CLR's are the bees knees. I would have done them too but the 45 lb thing killed it for me. My name came up and everything. If you have the strength, go for them.

CLRs, in my humblest of opinions, are the best FRFR monitors currently on the market for their respective pricepoint and possibly even for some 50% more.

They're killer.

And if you're going to go for them, hit up the active model wedge - powered by 500W Class D amplification - saves buying a separate amp etc. I bought 2 active wedges - totally made the Axe-II experience that much more tangible.

It's here! Would have been nice if the retailer placed the Kemper box into an outer box with some packing...:boxer: I have it connected into a Mackie mixer, USA made QSC amp, and a pair of JBL monitors.
