Saw them at the Big 4 show. Definitely still bring it

Thought their mix sounded funny in these vids though. They had great tone and mix live though.

I had it dvr'd so I saw it on my home system and they sounded bad ass.
You're right though, the drums are too loud and the guitars are barely audible in these videos.

Fryette UL and two D cabs is what you see Rob using live.

The album was done with Rob using a UL and Sig X. Scott was using his old JCM 800 (Steve Fryette recently rebuilt it for him from the ground up) and a D120. Both used Fryette and old Marshall cabs.

I agree the mix is not the best ..... not uncommon on TV shows where the person mixing is not real familiar with the band.

Scott Ians amp looks like a Randall RM100
Randall MTS Series RM100SI signature head with signature modules is what he uses live.

Sad to say Scott's tone is nowhere near as good as it used to be.

The problem being that Scott's signature Randall head wasn't even plugged in or turned on by the looks of it.. yet another fantom endorsement Lynch style. His tone was a little bass heavy if you ask me.

It sounded thin on my crap TV speakers ..... the fact he used 2210 and D120 in the studio says he is aware of what is real.
He does make money off the selling of his signature amp and endorsement .... just a perspective, not really saying anything myself ~ you figure it out.

Fryette does not pay endorsement or sell gear with silly signature model's. If you are endorsed by Fryette you can get the amp direct from them and it is not a lot cheaper than anyone can get one retail and nothing else. I am not endorsed by Fryette ... but have a few friends that are, that is the way they explained it to me.

Oddly enough though, his two Marshall sounding modules with the sig line actually sound pretty good. I can respect free money though.

Yeah I haven't heard Ian's signature modules but the one's I have heard produced some stellar tone. Making money is fine and all but it's weird to me that he'd put his name on it if he wasn't happy with the final product. I mean, if he's really that attached to his jcm 800's then just get a marshall endorsement. If Kerry King can get one then why not Ian too? Maybe the Randall deal pays more?

* - BTW, the new anthrax album is really fucking awesome. There's a song on it called 'In The End' that I cannot stop listening to.

The new Thrax is great, true about Ian's tone going down hill, his best tone was his 800 IMO

He had a Marshall endorsement before the Randall endorsement ....

I am sure Scott can use what ever he wants .... the endorsement are often for a given amount of time and how they will be used. I believe I remember him saying the Randall offered him what he wanted for live playing.

A few people do crack me up with the statements they make about the products they endorse .... Dave Mustaine and Ace Frehley come to mind.

Like I said before .... I am not implying anything, you figure it out.

Yep, mix was definitely shyte... But so it goes, they're on TV, most of us, not
