I went from two rigs down to the Axe Fx. What a journey and I have never looked back...

This is what my setup is now. It's amazing that my whole rig now weights around little over 10 kilo...

My AX8 and first Fractal product will be here Wednesday.

That would be nice for you maddnotez. What gear are you using now?

I bought an Axe, but not to gig with, because I don't gig.

I'm looking at moving almost all my tube amps, except maybe one.

Axe Fx is a great unit even if you are not using it to gig with. Are you using it for recording NeubyWanKaneuby?

I have a new weekly video series that is called Axe Fx tips and tricks. You can see one of the episodes here. Maybe you have got an issue with your Axe Fx that I can do a Tips and trick video about. Then just let me know...

Yep, I just use it for recording and messing around.

If I run into something, I'll hit you up. Thanks!

That sounds good. Are you using it with an amp or just straight into the computer?

Just XLR out into my sound card.

That's great. Iwas able to sell so many of my gear when I bought the Axe. I had a Two Notes Torpedo Reload that I sold.

At first I was just going to replace the effects in my rack with the Axe but then I made a Tone Match with my old Laney Amp and the Axe sounded just the same. So I bought a Matrix power amp and I have never looked back...

I'm thinking about selling all my tube amps, but I haven't completely decided yet.

I can't say until my AX8 arrives in the next few days but I just cannot see me selling my Bogner. While playing last night with my drummer I was thinking man, this AX8 is probably going to sound killer but I cannot see it permanently replacing the ultimate tube goodness.

That's my battle. I still like the tubes, but I'm looking at how much I'm actually going to play them, and at this point it's very little.

Yeah, I understand and money is money.

I can't say how often I will play until the AX8 arrives (has been updated to tomorrow!!)

But I can't see myself completely writing off tube amps as I do play in a band and the sound is just too good to let go. I am expecting great things from the AX8 and maybe the AX8 will completely surprise me BUT what kind of amps do you have?

I can't predict the future, sometimes things go up in value and sometimes things become obsolete. I seriously doubt someone could sell an 8 track collection for big money but in 20 years tube amps may be worth something?

I just feel that even if I do not play it, if I sell my amp at some point I will miss it and end up spending more money.

I have sold a lot of gear over the years and there are a few items I really wish I still had.

You can always keep your gear for a while before you sell them. In the begging I had this urge to use the Laney head that I had but now I haven't played it for months. It is in my rehearsal room and I will have to think what I will do with it...

Even though I don't use a ton of different amp blocks in the Axe Fx I really like that I can use an amp for just one preset and not having to carry one extra "real" amp for just one song. I have also told my self to just use what is in the Axe Fx and be happy with that and make most of the music and recording and releasing songs instead of searching for the perfect sound...

I have sold a lot of gear over the years and there are a few items I really wish I still had.

I have a PRS Archon 100, a PRS Custom 50, a Panama Inferno 100 and an Orange TH30. I've been trying to sell the Orange, but am getting to the point where it's not worth selling, and I might as well hang on to it. I've tried to trade a few times, but nothing has happened with that yet, so I will have them until the right thing comes up. I play the Custom 50 the most, and that's negligible at this point. The other 3 just kind of sit there and stare at me with their puppy eyes.

I like them all, but the Axe is just easier for me, especially since the majority of the time I do get to play is after my kiddos are in bed. I have a Rivera Rockcrusher Recording, which works well, but I feel like I still get a better sound from the Axe.

Keep your Bogner. I have been through every version of the AXE from the first - afx2 and none had the feel of my 20th XTC

I'm back to pedals and amps.

Yeah that's the plan. I love the amp, wanted one for a long time and finally got it. I'm not expecting the Axe to blow it away but I have heard killer tones from the Axe. Just another tool and toy.

Maybe it will surprise me who knows but I still plan to keep the Bogner. I regret selling my Pitbull but it made sense at the time. I would like another one along with a KSR amp and the Henning BR one day.

I'm content where I am now but sure, ideally it would be nice to have 3-4 tube amps, a modeler, a couple cabs and some back line monitors. That's my goal, and a few more guitars :p

I decided to not ever sell anything again unless I was desperate or if it sounds like shit haha. I've sold amps that I miss, a couple of guitars I wish I still had and a good amount of pedals that I've ended up re buying. I try to research and know what I'm getting before I buy if possible.

Miss both Bogners. Had a modded Uber rev blue with shiva clean and boost switch, the 20th XTC and a '80 jmp100

Effects... Should have kept the TC 2290 and BK Butler Tube Driver

Guitars '07 LP Goldtop and '07 PRS CU24 1 off.
