Any body drop a MM transformer into a JCM 800 2203x?

I'm close to putting a Mercury transformer into my 2203x and I'm curious is anyone here has done that. If so, did the sound jump out a bit more?
 
cant say that I have... but if you do and like it, shoot me a pm with a price on the old transformer.


edit: actually scratch that.. thats a 100w transformer. I need a 50w.
 
I haven't done a MM but I do have an OEI OT in my 2204 JMP. It was an 'upgrade' and I believe it. A lot of high end modders use MM transformers and I think its probably hard to go wrong, especially since thats a reissue. Go for it.
 
Back when I had a DC-10 combo, I put a MM OT in, and it made it more cleared and more thicker. It was definitely a 100% + in my book.
 
i dunno if this will help any, but i was told the 5150's MM tranny's were designed after the jcm800's.

i love what it did for my 5150II. it made it more compressed and definately made an improvement over rhythm and solo tones.

they are a bit overpriced for what i saw in improvement, but i would definately do it again if i had too.

If anyone has an older marshall output transformer laying around I would be interested in buying it.

never had a need on my 82' 800...the stock trannys on that head dominate IMO.
