Great solo! I wonder if he's using the ancient Rickenbacker "frying pan" lap steel that he used on all that early Jackson Browne stuff. It almost sounded like some of those notes are fretted, but he's that good on slide that I'd bet this is a lap steel performance. He and Joe Walsh caught my ear as slide players much more than Duane Allman when I growing up. Another guy I quite liked was Lowell George from Little Feat. I learned to like Duane later on, but yeah David Lindley is something else! Snappy dresser, too!
