This is for you older farts out there....
Was driving home and heard "keep on Loving you" on the 80's channel.........

Damn Gary Richrath fucking LAID DOWN that Solo!!!

Not a million notes......but it was full of soul and felt perfect for that tune....

Ok....I am done walking down memory lane.... :D
Loved Hi-Infidelity!!!

They were such a great band when I was growing up. Lot of good guitar oriented songs as well.

High Infidelity was the first LP I ever bought. Played the heck out of it.

Have you received your first Curb Your Enthusiasm dvd yet, brother mailman?

What was the name of that song? ...157 Riverside Avenue? Great guitars on that live version.

I can't hear REO Speedwagon without remembering my moms sweet station wagon and the not so sweet girls I dated in that wagon while listening to REO Speedwagon. Just hearing their name caused my pants to move as an involuntary response.

saw REO live in downtown charlotte NC 5 years ago.

got there at 11am and the concert wasnt until 10pm, front row in front of the subs

brought a guitar, snuck backstage where they were chillin before the concert. managed to get the guitar signed and met them for a few minutes.

one of the most badass live experiences ive ever witnessed - they put on a hell of a show and it was fucking killer spot on.

cant complain about all of the tits and ass either

My pants just moved too. I think my mom had that same station wagon...and I may have dated those same girls.

Don't get me started on "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I absolutely love it. Did you give him the warning that the first episode you watch of the show you will be so annoyed because you will identify with Larry and everything that happens to him will make you cringe. By the 2nd or 3rd show you have realized it's happening to him and not you and then you can relax and enjoy it. It really let's you know how much of a force Larry was behind Seinfeld.

Keep in mind that for Seinfeld the scripts were dozens of pages long. For Curb they're like 6,7 pages of a rough outline and a large portion of it is improvised. Those interactions when viewed like that are priceless. You will freaking hate Susie, then you will love her. I think this is my favorite comedy ever, replacing Seinfeld. And it's the kind of show you keep thinking about for days after. And just wait until JB Smoove joins the cast in I think season 6. He and Larry bouncing improv off of each other is priceless.

I lived in northern Indiana in the late 90's. Apparently REO Speedwagon had some epic live shows in that area in the late 70's and early 80's. Saw an old show from Europe the other day (pre hi infidelity) and they really kicked ass. Always love the guitar-oriented pop songs they had.

It's so far superior to Seinfeld, it's not even in the same league. Brilliant in every aspect.

I envy the Mailman. He's going to experience every season from the perspective of a virgin.

Should be here in the next couple weeks as much as we go thru DVD's.....

Back to REO...
man that guy made me want to play a Les Paul more then any other....

Saw REO several times in Ohio in the early 80's. Loved them!!

I tried to have my employee start watching Curb so I brought them in to watch when it's slow. We watched the first one and he couldn't take it. Cheryl looks and sounds so much like his wife that when she was bitching at Larry he became very agitated. I know his wife and I could see where he was coming from. He hasn't watched it since.

My wife hated the first one she watched too and then she got into it too. Every single episode. I agree. Larry David is brilliant.

Roll With The Changes & Riding the Storm Out are my early REO memories. You get What You Play For & You Can Tune a Piano but You Can't Tuna Fish were in constant rotation on the ol' turntable. Gary Richrath was a just awesome live. LP through a cranked Marshall!

High Infidelty was where they started to lose me and became more of a pop band. I kinda equate it to Journey's Infinity album. Huge success, but I preferred the older stuff. God I'm old! :bash:

Fire your employee. Teach him a lesson that when you put on a tv show and he's at work, he's darn well going to either love the show or pretend to love it.
