Anybody on here have experience with Frankenstraat? I ordered a body and neck from him in the beginning of January this year, and I'm still waiting for it to arrive!
First of all, the purpose of this thread is not to bash James, or to make him look bad, let that be clear!!
On his site, it says that necks ships within 4-6 weeks, and bodies within 2-4 weeks, unless otherwise noted. So I placed my order, payed, and sent a mail with specs... All was good, and In the end of March, I received an automated reply saying all kits will be shipping within a couple of weeks. James had some personal issues, I believe, so production of kits were stopped for a while. Nothing happens. From then, and till now, I've been promised that the kit would ship 4 or 5 times, the last being now the 13th of September. I replied, and asked for a tracking number, as I've done before, but I still haven't heard anything. Obviously, it still hasn't shipped. Generally, communication is very, very poor. Getting updates from him without sending mails, is impossible. I was promised pictures on several occations, but the pictures never found their way to my inbox, without me sending mails asking for them over and over again. A lot of empty promises, I'd say... To bad, because I really like his work, and the kits looks amazing!
Calling is not an option, as I'm in Norway. All of this is something that doesn't exactly make me want to use him again, for other bodies/necks...
One thing is the fact that this is taking so bloody long.... I can understand that, he obviously have shitloads of other stuff to do, but he's basically been telling me my kit will ship, since April. That's almost 6 months! And besides, I've watched dozens of eBay auctions for necks/bodies go through, and getting shipped out. That's kinda frustrating, seeing as I payed for my kit NINE months ago!
I've been hesitant to make a topic on this, as I understand it can be seen as bashing, or something... I have no intent of making James (Frankenstraat) look bad, as said above, but to put it this way: If I had not known he had made bodies and necks for a lot of people, I'd believe I was being scammed. This is just not the correct way to do business, and leaves a pretty bad impression, IMO.
Any feedback would be appreciated (especially from people that have experience with buying from him).
