Yeah I wondered about this amp as well. Looks like a kick ass, straight forward rocker.

Try YouTube.

And that's my point, there are just a few clips out there. Very little reviews and compared to other Friedman amps very little you tube clips

I haven't had a chance to play the amp, but goddamn, is that video not a clinic on how to get a boatload of tones using just your hands and the volume knob on your guitar?

Phil X is a BADASS MF

And I'm not surprised that the Friedman Phil X sounds like a JMP, cause that mystery amp he's talkin' about in the vid is a '76 2203. :D

ive got one - as said, like a perfectly eq'd jmp with more gain available.

has just enough of the friedman polish, while still retaining a more immediate feel and raw tone than some of the others in the lineup.

its a really straight-forward amp and tone but still very harmonic and interesting

I have one and love it. Instantly bonded with it from the first chord.

Simplicity and purity at it's finest (via the Friedman magic touch, of course).

Here's another quality video showcasing the amp's great tone with a walk-through of the controls:

1 channel amp. really does the perfected JMP thing perfectly. If you're into that flavor you really can't go wrong. Maybe RedPlated will get in here and comment soon. I know he had one for awhile.
All this is absolutely correct except for one thing: RedPlated's Phil X now resides with me :D

I can't say enough about this amp...my favorite plexi type amp I've ever played. I'm running it hot too -- both masters are at 1:00 and 1:30 through my Suhr Reactive Load...
