Sorry to create another one of these threads :(

I love these apps. They sound great to me. Very impressed with great sound and little cost.

I highly recommend this but I do have a few questions and was hoping someone can help.

It can get a bit noisy and the free noise gate in jam up doesn't wow me.

I am not very familiar with gates at all but I can't get it to cut immediately. There is still a bit of noise and almost a short delay when I stop.

So my question is are there any gates you can buy on jam up that are clearly better than the free one or maybe specific settings I should use for decay and sensitivity?

I also am curious about what other people are using for a power amp.

I've got a no name brand 100w PA head that I'm using to push my 4x12 and it does sound decent but the gear nerd in me says there's something better out there.

I'm tempted to buy the .44 magnum pedal for the fact that it's a freaking pedal!!! And portable. but 44w vs. my 100w scares me.

I'm going to use this for a full band practice in a metal band and probably live as well. The other guitarist is using a 6505 and I think those are 120w.

Anyway, power amp suggestions?

Very low budget, I can't afford a Mesa 50/50 or VHT 2/90/2 or anything.

Trying to keep it around $100 if possible or I can continue to use the 100w that I already have.

Well a 100 ss amp wont hang with a 100 watt tube amp.

Bias doesnt allow the poweramp sims to be shut off, for this reason it sounds better through a ss amp.

Stick with your current PA until yiu can get something with more wattage.

Wow, Ty. I didn't even think about that.

I'm pretty sure my pa head is SS. I've never checked and some guy just left it at my house and won't come get it.

On a side note. Disabling the cab in bias messes with my head too (my human head not amp head)

It works through my power amp and 4x12 with the bias cab on or disabled.

Actually sounds better with it on. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks for your reply btw

I use the Metal Pack noise gate and the Merrow Gate.....both are good; better than the free one.

Nice, I'm gonna have to get one.

When I go to the jamup store through the app it lists everything seperately.

How do I find the "pack" or did they discontinue that?

Also do you know what the Restore Purchased button does when you are in the store?

When you go to the store, check under bundles; the 'restore purchases' is if you delete the app by accident or get an iPad; you DL JamUp again and it puts all your stuff on there too. It doesn't save settings though, just the stuff you bought so you don't have to buy it twice.

Interesting.

I thought they were non transferable, is this new?

Anyhow, Ty I'll check for the bundles when I get a moment.

Been there since I started using it since last year; you buy the app, not the place to put it; I have JamUp on 2 iPhones and 2 iPads. It's all the same account. They're non transferable between accounts, but you can put anything you buy in iTunes on any iOS device with the same account.

Ok so I'm about to buy the Signature pack (Ola/Loomis/Merrow)

Will it work in Jam up? Or do I need Jam up Pro?

Haven't got it yet :p

Still messing around. Sounding so brutal but still a couple issues.

Anyone tried playing legato on jam up or bias?

Wtf is all I can say. Cuts in and out big time unless I'm picking. I even turned input to 100% to test.

Also idk if it's the virtual drivers but the 8 track recorder is complete Garbo. When I send myself a clip it doesn't sound the same at all. Really fuzzy and scratchy.

Do you guys know if there's a PG forum? Couldn't find one anywhere.

Haven't found one. Closest is the forum for Audiobus.

http://forum.audiob.us

There's a bunch of guys on there using it...and there's a 40 pg thread on it on SSO.

Cool I'll check out audiob

I painfully read the entire ss.org thread and posted a reply in regards. Hopefully someone chimes in.

Too much going on in that huge thread lol.

I'm jacksonluvr636 on there.

Nice; I've been in that one since the beginning; same name as on here.
