Herring's become one of my favorite players over the last couple of years. I know he's been around awhile, but I'm digging this kind of playing more and more these days. I'm pushing 40, so there's that. Lol!

Guitar solo around 3:40 if you don't wanna sit through the keyboard solo.

Guitar solo around 2:00.

With Aquarium Rescue Unit. Ridiculously good band performance.

Heck yeah! seen him plenty from ARU early days to Dead to WSP. Love it!!

Big fan. He's a major-league badass, and has been influential to me in the past several years. Really sweet guy, as well.

Col. Bruce Hampton & The Aquarium Rescue Unit to reunite for limited tour dates this summer

Special 2015 edition of beloved absurdist jam-driven outfit to feature Col. Bruce Hampton alongside original members Oteil Burbridge, Jimmy Herring, and Jeff Sipe.

LOVE Jimmy, monster musician and super down to earth human being at the same time. If you haven't heard of him I always tell people he's the best unknown known guitar player.

I found some of his stuff on Youtube about a year ago and have been a big fan since. Smooth player with an unique style and approach. After watching a few of his instructional videos and interviews, he's a really down to earth with a tremendous amount of knowledge on how to be a professional. I hit 40 earlier this year as well and noticed my shredding style slowly dissipating as well.

Amazing player!! I have been a huge fan of his since the 90's, but have not listened to him in quite a while!! Love the Aquarium Recuse Unit and Jazz is Dead stuff!!

I'd heard ARU back in the late 90's and knew whoever was playing guitar was a beast. I didn't know it was Herring. I stumbled across a Widespread Panic concert on cable a few years ago with Herring playing guitar and have been a fan since then. I never really cared for WP much before then.
