Johnny Cash " The Bird" originally from

the famous photo of Johnny Cash giving the middle finger at San Quentin in 1969 was taken by photographer Jim Marshall when Marshall asked Cash to share his feelings on the prison authorities, saying to Cash, "John, let's do a shot for the warden" And the rest was history or so we thought ..​

Then again for the 1998 album " UNCHAINED" With Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers band accompanying him it went on to become the Winner of best country album of the year, so they decided to use the iconic photo once again as his reply for the lack of support from country music radio and it mirrored his feelings perfectly for them!​

Got to love Cash ! There was none like him!
