Just bought one off Reverb. Been wanting this or the two-notes live for a while now. My hopes are sky high on this. I really hope it cures my GAS for quality recording. What is everyones thought? I did talk to Two-Notes support before buying this and they said that the Studio and the Lives cab section is exactly like the WOS plugin so that should make this equal sound wise with them. That's of course if my converters are equal. Didn't want to spend the extra money on having portable cab sims cause I'll never use it.

I've been a happy Two Notes Torpedo Reload user for about a year now. I used it daily. Total game changer for me. I moved from a house in Upstate NY to an apartment in Portland, OR and it allowed me to still use my big 100 watt amps without the cops being familiar with where I live. Super cool unit.

The Suhr Box is a GREAT unit. It wont get any better. You can crank your 100Watt amps into sweet spot and use great IRes. Ownhammer has really great ones, where different Mics on a cab are mixed already.
You shall go out of the Suhr box into a HiZ input of your mic preamp or interface. thats very important. otherwise your tone is thin and not fat.

The suhr looks awesome it just depends if you want an all in one solution. If you want an all in one solution the Live is great. I own a Torpedo Live and for some reason the ownhammer cabs sounds horrible. I'm not sure if it is a conversion issue or if i am doing something wrong. I love the cabs in the live and being able to move the mic around and have reverb and eq is pretty awesome.

I'm a broke ass mf'r right now so the main reason I went with the Suhr is price. I just right now for the first time hooked the slave out of mesa 50 watt recto into my interface and used an Ir and fuck it sounds sweet as hell.If thats any indication of the tones I will be getting I'm fucking happy as fuck!!!

^^^^this. I often wonder if I need one or if would sound any better, cuz both my EVH's have preamp line out and I get killer results just doing that. I guess I haven't bought one cuz $399 is a hefty penny if I don't even need one. I guess my stealth though I could run without plugging in a cab...maybe I should get one, since I don't have a cab for my stealth anyway, or just sell the stealth. Decisions decisions.

Well look who's here! We just exchanged some emails this morning! LOL!

Have you had any issues with feedback/squealing if you get too close to the Reload? I got my Torpedo Live today but am considering returning it for either the Reload or Studio. Of course I say this without having even hooked it up yet!

My Mesa has the slave out so it has to be turned up to work. I put my cab face down on the floor so I could record semi quiet. Works pretty good. A poor mans load I guess.

Hey!

The Reload does make a squeal if you're inches away from it, but take a step or so back and you're fine. Crank up a good tube amp and do the same thing and it'll bark at you too.

I really like units like the Reload or the Suhr Reactive Load because you can swap IR's after you've already recorded. You can just loop a riff in your DAW and then try different IR's which is essentially like just moving the mic around on the cab until you find the sweet spot. The Live is awesome if you've picked an IR you like and are just going to go with it. They're all awesome units. It ultimately just depends on what your needs are.

if memory serves me correct the live can be used as a load only. you can turn off the cab sim and use the signal into a daw and ir loader

I have a SRL and love it. Use it every day. Best direct/recorded tone I've ever had.

Yep, SRL is a great unit for cranking the 100 waters and not need a cab. Super convenient and great sound.

I've had my finger lingering over the BIN button all day for the SRL. I will order one before turning in tonight.
I purchased the Torpedo Live last year, and returned it after a week. Was not impressed with that one. Tried many well known and well liked IR's, but no matter what I tried I just couldn't get anything remotely close to my amp cranked through a cab. I am hoping that the SRL will get me where I want to be. I have accumulated a nice selection of IR's which I use with Bias for low volume practice and wankery. I was watching a Pete thorn video earlier, and he built an IR fairly quick with the Two Notes Blend IR.(How did I ever miss this nifty little plug in?) I downloaded it, and am looking forward to taking some cabs to a friends pro studio, raiding his awesome mic locker, and making my own IR's. Really, really hoping that this works for me. Good luck with yours, and keep us posted as to the results. Everything I've heard from it so far was great.
