Have always just used fairly low end, basic straps. As I get a bit older I would like something a little nicer that is comfortable. I know trying them on is key but can any of you post suggestions or point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I've been using DiMarzio Clip Straps for decades....the black nylon ones. Uber comfy

The most comfortable strap I ever used was a 4 inch wide cloth and leather wonder strap from a company called Silver Eagle. I can find no evidence on the internet that this company ever existed so I'm guessing that they went out of business a long time ago.

If you like the cheapies, just look for one with softer cloth.

I've tried the big padded things, but just too bulky after being used to the cheapies.

I just started having my Les Paul start hurting my shoulder during a gig. I've gigged for a while without any problems with my existing normal 2" Levy strap. After searching around online and using simple physics (wider contact with shoulder will spread the weight out) I decided to spend a little more and get the Vintage Plain from El Dorado. Made in US and built extremely well. I didn't want the whole strap to be huge, just the shoulder part. It will take some time to break as it's really nice leather. I had straplocks with my previous strap and if you want them with the new strap you will have to tell them before they ship it to you so they can bore it out a little bigger. I decided to leave it stock and honestly these things are rock solid on normal guitar strap pins. In fact, I had to take them off the guitar to force them through the thing. Super secure and the leather is really thick. I leave my strap on the guitar all the time. If you're a take on/off kind of guy I'd suggest straplocks of some sort. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

I use a franklin padded leather strap with the rolled edges so the edge doesn't rub my neck....

A little pricey but worth every penny when you can concentrate on "playing" instead of the constant rubbing the cheap straps do...lol

Been using a Levy's black leather strap for more than ten years, still looks good and is very comfortable!

Ernie Ball black nylon.

I have a nice Levys leather strap I use for heavier guitars and bass.

It looks like you use Andersons. I assume they're Strats. I assume they aren't heavy??

Thanks for the recommendations everyone! I will look into them. I know it is all subjective but appreciate it.

I use the straps that came with my Andersons (just like the basic EB straps with his logo). They are fine but when I play at our shows and practices I tend to get shoulder fatigue where the straps hit my left shoulder. Something a little more comfortable that is wider would be helpful.
