The old Randall G2 and G3's were great. Albeit, a bit bassy, but great otherwise.

The Marshall 8100 is a classic for metal. Sames as the old Randall RG100. The Ampeg VH140 too. And the Peavey Supreme!

I’ve still got an old RH250, RG80es and a valvestste 8100. Just sold my Century 200 for $3k! I like the RH250 and Valvestate the best.

I have three Randall X2 heads. Dimebag in a box,no extra stuff needed to get there.
And an 8100 on permanent loan...i think.

Bloodrock forgot to mention the mighty Madison Prophecy amp!

That little toaster was kick ass! We used to plug it into a 4x12 with an ISP sub and giggle like little kids.

ive owned several randall rg100's. still have one rackmount head somewhere. great platform for brutal stuff back in the day; two of those split with a stereo chorus and boosted, will get super chuggy. don't know too much about current ss stuff..

There are defintely some great solid state amps out there. For me, I had a Randall RH100 for several years and sold it. I've kept my eye open and even occasionally actively searched for another and came up empty. Its a great amp.
