Hes playing a small theater nearby (1300 seater) Just wondering if its worth going.

If Yngwie was close to my location, I'd definitely go see him.

From the videos I saw, he was pretty awesome in the tour he did last summer with Vai, nuno, and Zack last summer.

Funny, I was just looking at his site last night at tour dates, bummed he's going no where near me. I'd definitely go if I could.

Definitely worth seeing him live. I saw him few years ago, Yngwie played and sounded great, quiet a treat to hear his killer vibrato live.
I would highly recommend brining ear plugs tough...
He plays LOUD with crazy amount of cutting treble/highend(alot of high notes hitting shred solos...) which made my ears rang for a week.

Yup. I have vids from last year on my demo channel

I saw him last summer on generation axe. He's so over the top and it got a bit much for me. I got bored after awhile because it was the same thing over and over. Don't give me wrong, it was amazing. But I enjoyed watching vai and Nuno more.

First, he was having problems with his amps on that long. They were moments of dead there for minutes at a time with him trying to figure out his amps

I haven't seen him in years but when I did it was majestic

You just have to remember he doesn't have a vocalist anymore...I think Him, the keyboard player and bassist share the vocals

Why wouldn't you go see him if you could? He is legend.

agreed on the earplugs, it was stupid loud and clipping the boards.. that being said, amazing performance. He stole the show at Generation Axe.

I've seen him quite a few times.. always good, but I haven't seen or heard anything new from him in forever. Having said that, I may try to may the NYC show...

I have never been able to see him play live.... even though he overplays now and is sloppy on some nights, I would still go see him if he played anywhere close to me. Him on his worst day is still worth watching as he blazes through a few tunes just to hear that vibrato live. I would be just as happy if he never released anything new as it is all rehashed anyway.. I am good with hearing all the material up to Eclipse for the rest of his days.

I'd love to see him once. Every guitar player probably should. Even though he's become a caricature of his former self, seeing a guy who can play like he does has to be an awe inspiring thing.

I try to see a lot of guys who are amazing, whether I like what they do or not.

I saw him once on that early-solo-career tour he opened for AC/DC. He was amazing. I know he could never recapture that but I'd def go see him if he was within a couple-hour drive. But he's a couple DAYS drive away on this tour.

Saw him in 1985 at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit. Talas was the opening act. Both Billy and Yngwie destroyed it!!!
