I see they've finally released it for sale outside the sig guitar....

isnt it pretty much a tonezone? thats what his tone sounds like to me anyways, and i love the tonezone as well

From what Ive heard before it was available to the public, the general consensus was that the closest production pickup was the Breed, not the Tone Zone.

FWIW, through his hands and rig, the tone at his NAMM performance was out of this world incredible. But I doubt I could make it sound nearly that good.

Thats what I figured too since he used the Breed prior to the release of the AT-300. Although he uses a JB in his older AT-100 so go figure.

Double Whammy or Breed will both get you seriously close.

They make you totally sound like the guy, even if you have a Peavey Rage 158...

Another marketing tool...

I agree that its marketing but I dont think anyone, including Dimarzio is claiming the pickup will make you sound like him.

I kinda figured that out... But if you put a name, if you tag a product you're selling, you're not only selling the item, you're selling the dream. And the thing is, we can't all sound/play like Timmons. Hence my comment.

All gear is marketed, sig or not.

That fact isn't really pertinent to the question I asked though...

You're right, my bad. Don't wanna hijack your thread so please ignore my comments.
