Cool but do you think anyone here even has a clue? Beside a few.

I am now. Fender Princeton Reverb clone hit with a Love Pedal Purple Plexi. Sounds like "Rocks"-era Aerosmith...

I use a TC Electronic Nova Drive into my Fender Deco Tone (FCS Made in USA Blues Jr.) set to clean. The only amp I'm using pedals with at present. (pedals and order listed in my sig)

I've also used the Nova Drive with a Tech 21 Liverpool direct, but I have several other direct options too (ToneLab LE, JMP-1, PSA 1.1) that can get very clean to varying levels of distortion and many points between.

FWIW, I still dig Rocks, and Draw the Line too. Got 'em as new releases and saw the tours too (I think? I know I saw Draw the Line tour, but I saw them several times around that time, so its all a blur and so long ago)

Huh... lotta old dudes here - would think a lot of people here would have heard "Rocks"...

I play Marshalls with pedals. Marshalls are a clean sound to me...

I guess you could almost put my Rocca modded Mig 60 in the Marshall camp. That amp and pedals and you had to be careful not to blow your nuts off if you were standing in front of the cab!

I helped an old band audition new guitar players and some of the early version Spiders that they were bringing in just weren't cutting it so I let one of the guys use my rig. He was standing directly in front of the cab, hit an open E, and then promptly smacked the volume knob down on his guitar and grabbed his sack with his jaw on the floor. Priceless.

One of their best - I LOVE that tune! The tones on the intro are amazing and I'm hitting that straight on with the combo I'm using right now. That Purple Plexi pedal is the shit...

Mesa Mk IIC+ (I had no footswitch, it was used as the house amp that evening, and it was a version without the GEQ. Tech 21 tri-OD in front sounded great (the Brit setting)

Mesa Mk I, it didn`t like the tri-OD, was on the fence about the Solid Metal, but loved the ToneBone Hot British.

Marshall JCM 800, Tech21, POD, Sansamp, Tubescreamer for goosing it. It wasn`t too fond of the tri-OD, but loved the TS. Worked more or less like a power amp for the POD and the Sansamp.

I used to used my 91' Turbo Rat into my old 72' Bassman head (RIP :( ). That was a bally rig.

Fuckin' A. See my post above. Turbo Rat = balls.

^ I am very tempted to pick up one of those EH 22 caliber amps, seems like a great backup solution....

Hell yeah dude. I dont know why the Turbos are SO unpopular. They are HUGE sounding

Our lead guitarist in our band only ever does such a thing. He runs a Garnet Session man which is a 60w head. It cannot do distorted very much if at all. Hell the channels arent even selectable, one input jack for each channel, so one is setup up for a little more cut, slightly higher volume and is used as a solo channel, and is selected through an AB pedal. An ibanez DS-7 is used infront of the AB box. This is not for rock, but more for thrash metal. Imo, it works very well.

~~Cheers!

OCD, Hotcake and Zvex Box of Metal in my Fender Hot Rod. I never - I mean NEVER - use the dirt channel of my amp. I think I can pretty much cover all my needs with these 3 dirt boxes. My Hot Rod is one of those "Special Edition", it has a V30 and snakeskin tolex. I didn't care much for the snakeskin thing but I tried the amp with 4 other Hot Rods side by side and the snakeskin version just smoked the others, don't ask me why.

It's my current setup and it will be for a long time. That and my Les Paul, I don't need anything else.

its because of the V30, which absolutely SLAYS in the hot rod amps. i think the amp's overdrive even sounds good with a V30, for classic rock of course. V30 is a PERFECT fit for that amp, imho.
