With that said, any of you that don't like Star Wars are dicks by default, regardless of tone preferences. I'd rather be a Star Wars fan and play a Hello Kitty guitar thru a Gorilla amp than not be one and play anything else.

Getting back to the subject at hand, that sucks ass that a Peavey with EL34s potentially sounds better than the EVH with EL34s. I only say that because so many of us were hoping that Ed would make a killer amp similar to his amp in the old days but looks like it went a completely different direction. I get it though. From a business and amp building standpoint, easier to create an EL34 amp based on the 6L6 version rather than creating a whole new thing.

They might do well with this amp, but a more Marshall-sounding EL34 platform that really nails the old Brown Sound would absolutely sell faster than they could build them. Furthermore, Fender has the resources to crank these things out faster and a lot cheaper than Friedman, Splawn, Suhr or any of the other VH-clone, smaller builders. Not writing this one off yet, but it looks like a missed opportunity. Add to that the likelihood than EVH is done touring, and I really wonder who's gonna make this amp move off the shelves.

A vs between the Peavey 34 and the EVH would be nice to hear.

Sounds as if the EVH has a bit more chew on it. I like what it sounds like. I honestly do not see the bad in it.

Not enough people have tried one yet to make any sure assumptions. Personally I hope the offical description is leaving out some details lol. I like the idea of a cleaner clean, but even more gain and compression on channels 2 and 3 ? Is that even possible ? Hahaha

Holy smokes! Even though you constantly talk about your 5150 50W amplifier, always comparing it as good or better than much more superior amplifiers… which gets extremely tiring… I have always given you the benefit of the doubt.
