Good thing this guy was not around when most everyone here was buying/selling/trading $3k + amps on a daily basis. Mostly out of boredom.. lol

Stealth was cool and close to what I would have wanted to tweak on the regular 100w but it went a little too over the top for me. If they would have just kept channel two the way it was with a little more gain I would have been happy. Keeping channel two a bit more open and clear would be a killer tone I think. Too much compression squashes it. Why not just have that way over the top compression on channel 3 for solos and have a killer high gain clear and raw kinda tone on channel two ? I digress![]()
gregmusi":25j3nzzf said:agreed... I love the blue channel on the 100w but it could use a tad more gain without all that compression on the stealth. Isn't there supposed to be a simple mod on the 100w blue to give it more gain but retain its character? That would make it (to me) the ideal (although the bias test points would be nice as well)

If I see it that way, so be it. If he says different, then whatever.
Again.. go fuck yourselves

I just watched the video posted with this thread with the demo.I just figured out why I didn't like the amps. The tone stack is not desire able to my ears. All the gain, channels ,compression ,presence, resonance is great to have but I just can not for the life of me understand the lack of substance and tone with this amp line.I do understand the very user friendly price tag that gets you into a great amplifier. That being said I do not understand the innovative genious of EVH bringing the world of guitar to its knees with the sounds of VH, thru Fair Warning. These amps do a very bad job of representing his sound and his work. I find it very disappointing he has no interest in having a very articulate sounding amp in his design. Sorry if I offend anyone please take it easy with the insults if so. I just find it pathetic with the amp builders of today and mod specialist this is what we get from probably the biggest revelation on the guitar I will see in my lifetime.Cheers,

Eddie doesn't want his old sound even though 85% of this forum (and many others) do.

hehe... Hey bro, when are you getting the Mark III back?!
You man be right boss I don't understand why he hasn't offered us something phenomenal as his sound usually was, as of recent when we have more options he gives us less.Confusing..ThanksChubtone":qjx0rp2n said:Beandust":qjx0rp2n said:I just don't get it.No disrespect to anyone who plays likes or binds with the 5153. I mentioned tone stack in my post, clearly not what involves techniques with or without Ed or Ted,sorry..Tone stack is the amplifier. No amp makes you sound like anyone, I didn't say anything remotely close to sounding like evh.. As I mentioned it would be nice to think he would release something with substance considering his heritage...if he releases his genetic structure maybe you can givverify a replay to that post instead. Eddie must have used different fingers on each of the first albums otherwise why would his tone be so different. And for this last album he must have had a complete finger transplant because his tone is entirely different. Yes, everyone can still tell it's Eddie Van Halen playing but if you think his tone is the same, well.... there are some great fishing forums you may want to look into.
I believe a lot of the jackassery involved with this "tone is in the fingers" argument is the story Eddie told early on about how Ted Nugent asked Eddie if he could play through his rig and Eddie let him and then Eddie commented and said he still sounded like Ted Nugent. I think some people took that to mean that he got the exact same tone that Ted normally got through his vintage Fender amps. Of course he wasn't getting the same tone but he still sounded like Ted Nugent because he still was freaking Ted Nugent. He was just obviously Ted Nugent with a different tone.
You think if Ted Nugent learned Jamie's Crying note for note on the tour bus in '78 and then played Eddie's guitar through Eddies rig that with eyes closed anyone could tell Ted's fingers from Eddie's? Please.
I am as well saying I have seen EVH involve himself with peavey and fender and offer us amps and other cool stuff.Would be cool if he would try it with ohh say Marshall, Boogie,Friedman,Diezel,,Bogner,Friedman...etc etc...sorry if I left anyone out. And for the tone remarks about it being in your fingers, have him play eruption thru SRV s rig..Good luck with that..and also check the video out where he starts to play *women in love* the Smithsonian inductee video* and he says** I don't have the effects for this and he doesn't play it...meaning compression I'd guess....things contribute to one's style of playing that further introduce individual tone.ThanksBeandust":3a1xefmh said:I just don't get it.No disrespect to anyone who plays likes or binds with the 5153.
