Sounds pretty good! There is a tad too much presence and not enough low end IMO in the vid but just nitpicking.
Dude, have you seen the position of the presence knobs in the video that Chippy posted?!

If I turn the Presence over 11 o' clock on my 50W 5150III, it's too damn bright for me. This guy has them nearly dimed.
He is a great player though and occasionally ALMOST plays classic EVH licks, but with a twist.

Might as well have thrown in a fourth channel of bees in a can. How much fucking gain do amps need nowadays? Take my 2204 with a koko boost over this amp anyday. Great player though! But totally modern sound, nothing old school about it. Plastic.

I had the opportunity to play this amp a few times over the last week or so. The clean channel is decent; not amazing in the chime and jangle department, but not bad either. Channel 3 is way over the top for me in terms of gain.

Channel 2 is where things got interesting. After messing with some different settings on this channel, I turned the gain down to a bit below 9 o'clock, turned up the mids and master volume, and it sounded fucking great!! Set like this, you're at about Fair Warning levels of gain, and the amp is much more open and touch responsive than some of the videos would lead you to believe. I was really surprised by how good it sounded and how well it responded to the guitar's volume knob.

Everyone plays differently and dials things in differently, so I would not write this amp off without playing it yourself first. It's definitely capable of a lot of different types of tones, not just gained out metal on the dirty channels.

I'd figure just for the money sake they'd come out with a single channel "clone" of his old Marshall. Hand wire it, slap an EVH badge on it and charge $3k ;)

Friedman already does that. Less the EVH badge of course :D !!!!!

My two cents. I have all versions of the EVH brand 5150's.

Pros on the el34 is a GREAT clean channel finally. Totally usable for cleans vs the stealth. The blue channels is my home on all the versions of this amp and this one does not disappoint at all. A boost in front works great as well. The red channel is a little more tame vs the other models.

I'll make some clips soon and post them for you guys.

I've currently got a Jackson King V 2 KV2F (I LOVE IT)

and a Fender ProSonic of which I've just bought some high-gain tubes from https://www.eurotubes.com/store/pc/Fend ... o-c106.htm
As for the prosonic, my current valves are fucked and I can get pretty decent tone from them, especially on chords and stuff, but individual notes played clearly in amp distortion just don't quite cut the mustard...having listened to a few demos of my amp no fender im sure my new valves will fix my issue of tone.

HOWEVER

I've heard the EVH 5150 EL34 100W though a EVH III 5150 EL34 Speaker 100W and through a Friedman 412 on youtube....I'm leaning towards the EL34 speaker because its cheaper and seems to do everything I want.

to be clear I'm not looking for an EVH tone, I just like what this amp does, also I will be sure to do some research as you guys have suggested a 6543 or something like that...I will keep you posted!!!!!
