Welcome to the world of trying to buy .22 Long Rifle for the past several years.

Friggin "neck beards" have been buying it all up to sell it at a profit. I'm all for the free-market, but damn... I'd like to take my kids to the range again someday. Thankfully I stockpiled some in the years leading-up to the endless shortage. But the last thing I wanna do is run out and shoot it all up without the ability to restock.

$1850?
Geez I sold mine for $1950 last week
The bottom is dropping out....

The thing costs $1399 new from Fractal and of course because there's still a waiting list for it some Aholes are trying to get $1850. If you're going to buy stuff just to flip it for a few hundred bucks profit....STAY OFF THE FUCKING WAITING LIST SO PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY WANT IT CAN GET IT. Aholes! Ok, rant over. :codeak:

that's the worst!! also, when you do a trade with someone and they insist over and over that your gear is only worth a certain amount, then you do the trade, and you see the guy selling your gear for hundreds more. that one really irritates me.

someone call Bernie Sanders. he wouldn't stand for the concept of capitalism.

So the only difference between the AX8 and FX8 is the AX8 does amp modeling too? That seems like a huge feature bump for only 50 dollars additional...

Supply is driving the cost on these things. AxeFX, FX8 and AX8 are all out of stock so the rich kids don't hesitate to pay a fortune for these things.

I'm a dealer and my distributor, after several months of asking, said I should basically just give up trying to get .22LR. All the big companies put in such large orders that they force distributors into back orders so they're the first to be fulfilled when it's back in. The worst is some local ranges have tons of it in the back, but they only put maybe.. 10 boxes out on the shelves and charge an arm and a leg, pretending there isn't any.

I got my invite to buy the other day. I dont really want it anymore. I thought about buying to try/flip, but it's not worth my effort at this point. Lol

I just bought another .22 rifle in January (CZ 455 Ultra Lux), but had to really work hard to talk myself into buying it because of the ammo issue. I used the "it's a precision bolt rifle" argument to justify it. I've got a bunch of semi-auto .22 rifles and pistols, and certainly couldn't justify picking another one of those up with the scarcity of ammo these days. In the years before the shortage, I used to grab a 550rd box of Federal .22LR every week at Walmart while grocery shopping. Just because it was cheap and available. Had I known we'd end-up in the drought that we've been in, I'd have thrown at least two boxes in the shopping cart every week.

Sad thing is... I've always talked myself out of buying one of the .338 Lapua or .50 cal bolt rifles that I've lusted over, on the grounds of the expense of feeding them. But the way things are now, I could probably justify feeding one of those easier than a .22. It's just upside-down.

I'm selling mine for that? So fucking what? Who made you the decider of what people should flip it for? It's a free market... I'll either get $400+ or I won't... why should you care?

And by the way I got it with the intentions of keeping it if it sounded better than what I have or have used but guess what? It sounds no better than a Line 6 Helix and it plays so well with analog gear...... a lot better than the AX8. I did a lot of back and forth in several uses from tube amp to all direct and the helix to me was clear winner. So off the AX8 goes.

I could care less if I make more money off it than you think I should or not.

  The butt hurt is strong in this thread huh? By the way thanks for the tip on flipping mine for more than I thought I could get.

I don't have one and I am on the waiting list too (just got it last month so ti will be a long wait) but I have absolutely no problem with that.

As a long time Axe Fx user I decided to give Helix a try last week because fractal has been out of stock on everything for a while. I was blown away by Helix and will no longer be ordering another Axe FX

It's very cool piece of gear that you will be get very nice tones out of no matter which way you decide to use it.... some people just can't get past a name.

The AX8 was designed as a modeler and not to be used with an amp where the FX8 was designed to be used to add fx to your amp. No 4CM with the AX8 among other things. So the AX8 is not just the FX8 with modeling capabilities.
