I know.....weird question. Just the last 6 months or so I havent listened to music while in the Car.
Mostly Comedy channel or talk radio. When I do click it on a station...just sounds bland to me lately.
Dont get me wrong.....I still love PLAYING music every weekend. And we play for several hours.
I just dont feel like listening it to it lately. Anyone else get in this "slump"?
And I own over 1000 CD's....Tons of MP3's on flash drive I can listen in the car....Satellite radio..
I only listen to the Comedy station. ;)
When with the family driving to and Fro....I just play the local pop station for the kids but pay no attention to the songs.
Am I turning into my Father??
Weird....I know. :D

Yeah, I hate to say it , but I dont have the pasion for listening the way I use to. I listen to a lot of talk radio when im in the car now. Every once in a while I still get the urge, if there is something new I really like. Sully Erna's newest disc had that affect on me, but I burnt that out within a month or so.

Ya, I can't listen to what's on the radio, so I listen to talk radio mostly.

I'm about the same, only it's AM talk for me. For music i like, would rather listen on a good stereo and way past the spending money on a car stereo days.

Its funny you mention this. I go through periods where I dont have anything in my truck...silence for a month or so, not even the radio, cant stand that shit anyways ;) Then something catches my ear and I'll play it for a while. Then silence again lol

Whew! I thought I was losing it for a minute...
Glad its not just me. Every once in a while as you mention....if I click over to an old school metal station and hear some Maiden or Priest I will listen. But I never bother to play cd's or anything much these days.
Nothing really sounds good to me lately.

BINGO!! Sounds exactly like me!

Yes I do, I get sick of the emptiness ...so that's when I shut of the world n reach out to Christ in prayer.

I never really get sick of listening to music, but I DO get sick of listening to the same music sometimes. I get really tired of hearing the same tunes no matter how much I like them, and I find myself getting into funks where I'd rather not listen to music than hear the same stuff again.

When I get into those funks I will spend night after night on youtube looking for anything new that I can really get into.

Never had given it much thought but. I do usually listen to talk radio in the morning on the way to work. Otherwise its metal, but if my daughter is in the car I am subjected to the top 40 hip hop.

Pretty much summed it up right there. I'm around music daily, so in my spare time, I rarely listen to anything but talk radio. There's a few records that have come out or are about to come out that I'm pretty excited about though.

Absolutely. I'll go for long stretches of time w/o listening to anything, then grab a few new discs, repeat.

I had no stereo in my car for about 3 years straight (until recently), and most days I still don't use it. I also personally find that the more I listen to music, the less I'm writing my own stuff.

In the car I listen to classical most of the time...it is still dynamic, and calms my stress from all the fuckin dumbshits on the road that piss me off.

My kids are older, (17 and 22) but i had a rule that when i was listening to music, it was something i liked :)

It had an affect because both kids like rock, although my daughter will listen to other stuff.

Even now, in the car no rap or country allowed! :D

Never been sick of listening to music( provided its what I want to listen to) if I have to listen to something that I don't like, id rather have silence. I have lost the Passion to play on several occasions and that lasted years. I can't imagine getting sick of listening though.

I can relate to that for sure. I've just been getting back into it lately infact... and a bunch of new gear to make my sound better than it has ever been has really got me excited about it again.

I went 2.5 years without a radio in my truck, and drove it every day. I could have bought a radio and put it in at any time i liked, but didnt bother because i didnt need it.

honestly, i have not listened to the radio in a very long time. CD's that are my favorite - i put on repeat and keep them loaded in the changer, but even now i prefer to drive rather than listen to any music at all.

At home it is a different story, always running pandora or spotify while studying, or listening to my youtube playlists (or what is left of them after WMG and Other copyright deletions)

Yes and no. It'll only last for a few days with me.

However, In the car it's mostly talk radio and news and stuff I'm working on at the time. Current demo's.

Having the right car makes you not want to listen to music, I suppose. A roaring V8 rivals the best guitar tone. :D
