Anyone hear of this cab maker / monitor speaker cab company?

Hi..
Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has used this companies products and if so, what do you think?

I'm thinking they are priced very reasonable and it sounds like their products are designed well from the
descriptions they give and they are priced very nice I thought.
Anyone?

Ear Candy has a long history of fucking people over, keeping money not delivering cabs, etc etc.
 
Here is the standard form letter you will get from Tim, if you question his intent to deliver or not. I had completely forgot about it and dropped it - until I found he had a FB page and was selling cabs on Reverb.com. So, I sent a very polite email, asking if he was intending on honoring the purchase. Fortunately, I kept all the previous correspondence and my invoice/payment. If he thinks a form letter like this scares me, he's got another thing coming. That dude can't touch me. But, this is not the sort of guy you want to trust with your money....

At this time my intentions are to continue seeking counsel from my attorney in regards to this matter. I was unable to get through to the number you gave me. My intentions hinge on what our attorney says we should do in regards to the libel slander and death threats you made against me & my family. I had every intention of getting these to you until you posted these threats on public forums. Your posts of violent threats and recruiting others to carry out those threats has my hands tied.



Our attorney has all the screen shots from the forums and screen shots of all your threats and libel slander. You could potentially get sued for libel slander compounded with credible threats of violence as well as trying to contract someone to come to our establishment and “Rough us up or kill us in exchange for your cabs” while offering your cabs as payment.



My and the attorney’s outlook is, I owe you nothing and that you could very well, in the eyes of the law, owe us damages due to your reaction and propensity to threaten physical violence up to and including home invasion, assault, premeditated murder, theft, and intimidation while trying to contract someone to perpetrate said violence towards me and my wife. I did not take threats to my family lightly.



Your actions are nothing short of trying to hire a hit man and we have it all in writing and in screen shots as does the proper authorities as well as my attorney. If you post any more information regarding EarCandy in any forum, in any way, we will come after you to the fullest extent of the law and pursue charges stemming from the libel slanderous posts of your rally for violence and retribution.

I will email you back when the attorneys office finishes the deposition from all the facts that people from the forums have given him with the personal information regarding your and others posts within those forums. The problem is my legal advice from legal and the sheriffs dept. is to wait because they are afraid that me sending you cabs would only escalate things

I am really sorry things came to this, I am a Business man and would ultimately love to turn you into an EarCandy fan but judging from comments in the posts you made in those forums, that is never going to happen.



Ultimately my intention would ( In a perfect world ) be to get these cabs to you and have you go back to those forums and inform people that we got you taken care of and that you are sorry for the things you said. I would in turn, go in and publicly apologize to you for having you get mixed up in this horrendous wait time and messy non sense.

As a reply to the OP, I have seen on a few forums where people have been fucked by not getting cabs from EarCandy. They are arguably some of the best 2x12s out there from my readings on reviews and such, but as usual, the owner/builder is a dick. Seems to be very common among small builders across the board of custom gear, especially the small guitar luthiers. It is too bad because quite a few of them had great talent, just terrible business practice and then they try to take the threatening (or snatch 'n' grab) method to try to get out of it... :aww:

I gave him the chance over the last couple of months to make good, even though I don't really want or need the cabs now. However, just the admission of fault would have been good enough and the offer of something else to replace the cabs or maybe build some at a later date. I really don't know what sent him down the rabbit hole in the first place - and why he thinks whatever that reason was, is good enough to satisfy paid customers. I haven't the slightest idea how he would think someone would react.

I did get a good laugh out of his lawyer speak. Most likely, he lifted this form letter off the internet somewhere. I doubt he has two nickels to rub together, much less, money for an attorney.

Anyway, to the OP, get a cab from a reputable builder. If this guy doesn't have time and the little bit of money for wood to slap together a cab, it is not someone you want to deal with.
 
That's wierd. I happen to own a Buzzbomb from Earcandy and I did not have any of the problems everyone else is talking about. Not only did I receive great support as a part of the ordering process, I was on the phone with him hammering out the details of what I was after since I wasn't completely sure of what I was after before the order was placed. Once the order was placed I received my cabinet both packaged extremely well and in a very timely fashion. I have used my cabinet for playing live and to me it is a monster. I also received great follow up from the company when I did communicate back to them.

What a self riotious prick. All that lawyer talk and BS... Wonder how long it had been since he paid him to make the damn cab that the "Lawyer" email was sent. I've also heard nothing but bad things from Ear Candy. Decent cabs, but bad feedback.

He wants to hide behind the "law".... is he crazy! He RIPPIN the dude off straight up. People like this need to be brought to justice. You ever get his lawyers office phone #? Or even another email?

I gave him my number and address. Told him to have his lawyer drop me a line or give me a call. That was 2 months ago.
