Anyone hear of this cab maker / monitor speaker cab company?

that's where i found out he was still in business. you know, if the guy got in over his head, filed chapter 11, i would have just chalked it up to tough business or a bad businessman. Fast forward 5 or 6 years, I see he is a premier seller on Reverb and also boasts a FB page. ok, that tells me one of two things....he is continuing to fuck people over, or he has re-righted the ship. if so, he should go back and make good on his orders. i aim to find out which.

Not only did I receive great support as a part of the ordering process, I was on the phone with him hammering out the details of what I was after since I wasn't completely sure of what I was after before the order was placed. Once the order was placed I received my cabinet both packaged extremely well and in a very timely fashion. I have used my cabinet for playing live and to me it is a monster. I also received great follow up from the company when I did communicate back to them.

I've had my cab for about 10 years now...so I'm guessing 2003-ish.

I know you aren't him. Georgetown, TX. This guy is in Indiana, as far as I know.

But, when did you get an order filled. Mine was submitted back in 2008, I believe.
 
I've had this cab for about 10 years. I believe that would be 2003-ish. I had my cab at my house within about six weeks or a little less. I know that because I had a positive experience with Earcandy that I've made several people mad. The truth is for me that everything went smoothly and I have a great cabinet. I didn't post my reply to stir the pot. I do believe that if a person has a good experience with someone you should also share it because it's very easy for the mob mentality to take over when things like this start snowballing. I think Earcandy craftsmanship in my cab is excellent. So all I'm attesting to is my experience with my cab and the excellent treatment that I personally have received from Earcandy.

It ain't about "snowballing".

Steve trusted this guy and this ear candy fool should make it right. Refund or product period, and quit hiding behind his "lawyer". Damn, what a punk.

And Steve, did you ever get satisfaction from Bob Bradshaw? I seem to remember something was going on with him as well.

yeah, so that was well before my time and i know he did turn out a lot of cabs back then, according to his website gallery. something happened between 2008-2010. i've just never seen a business owner get so damn defensive. of course, back when it was a year late, two years late, three years late, the correspondence quit. i politely emailed a couple months back when i saw him on Reverb and FB and asked if he planned on making good on his back orders - then i got the nasty gram with all the attorney bullshit. there was actually another guy on here named steve, and he was in the UK. i think steve made some moves legally. maybe he has me confused with him. but, no sonofabitch like that is going to speak down to me. so, next time i am in the US, i will make a point to go to indiana and visit the asshole and leave with $1400 worth of something. at the end of the day, i don't even want the damn cabs now. but, those little monitor wedges, i could use.. :D. i he would quit being an ass, we could work something out. i am sure there are more out there that got stiffed without any reason.
 
Earcandy ripped off a lot of people! Good intentions mean shit if you do not refund the money or produce what one paid for.

If he really did contact a lawyer, he would NOT have responded to you - this is why attorneys tell their client's to basically "shut the fuck up or you're going to ruin your case". Instead, his attorney would have resonded; that's exactly what you pay them for.

I'm calling BS on the Earcandy guy retaining a lawyer, plain and simple.


Anywho, yeah check out Avatar cabs. Good build quality and good prices. I will also say the USA built Peavey cabs are well built, although the speakers are less than desirable.
 
UPDATE

Well, I was taken aback today. Out of the blue, I got an email from Tim - apologizing for the confusion and that he was preparing my cabs. We exchanged 5 or 6 emails. It seems there was someone else that he thought was me, sending he and his wife death threats and bodily harm and other nonsense. He did explain the illness and why he dropped off the radar. I am going to take it all at face value and honor his intentions to deliver the cabs. I thought this may be the case, because my emails in the past were not provoking in any way. He seemed very humble and forthcoming in his intentions. Which, is along the lines of what a few others have said his normal demeanor to be. So, I am going to give Tim the benefit of the doubt and see if he follows through. If he does, I am going to get a couple of the floor monitor cabs from him, which are what I really need right now and to pass along the good neighbor policy. I do hope he gets sorted out. Maybe a little skepticism is required, but I do think he will come through.

I will update this when the cabs ship. Fingers crossed, not so much for the cabs, but to disprove my prior perception and for humanity to prevail. He wants to wipe the slate clean and start all over. I will give him that much.
