I've heard some iPhone clips but nothing substantial....Just curious how they're going over there...

Synergy has posted a few things themselves on FB but it doesn't seem to be stealing the show at NAMM....

Yeah not as much splash as I would have thought Fig.. but i think part of it was that although Friedman had some on display, he had other goodies inside his booth which stole the show in his corner. The few clips i did see sounded promising but ultimately, put them side to side with what we already have and see if there is that much of a difference.

I'm sure more clips will out eventually, Synergy themselves will be doing pro demos (as stated on FB.)

The iPhone clips aren't bad, probably representative of the room sound (iPhone is great for doing it), there just aren't enough of them!

Been waiting on this for what, 5 years now? $1,600 is a steep entry point but really want that SYN-002 with a BE and probably the HBE...shame there's no switchable or Dual EQ C45/HBE or something (yet?)

Want the SYN50 but seems like they removed some cool features compared with MOD50.....although not seen it confirmed, nor heard the amp played at NAMM.

I just watched a 9 min video of Friednam discussing hid products at NAMM. He did NOT even mention the new modules or the Synergy line stuff

Maybe a Pete Thorn Demo is in the works.

Yeah, the prices seem a bit steep, but so is everything else these days. Look forward to these demos though.

Neither did Morgan from Morgan Amps. Kinda strange...

Most guys in the Mts world has had a friedman modded module. This isn't really that new. Had his HBE modded module and brahma years ago. And yes they both sounded killer

I was demoing the new Synergy products for Boutique Amps Distribution in the booth this year. They went over VERY well! All of the products are completely new designs, made in the USA with the highest quality components. Much better than any of the previous modular products. The new Friedman BE and HBE modules sound WAY better than the Friedman modified Randall modules that I've played. WAY BETTER!
The new Soldano SLO is also VERY impressive.

My favorites were the new Plexi allowing you to blend the normal and bright gain controls and the Twin/Deluxe witch has independent bright and tight switches as well as EQ per chanel. You can dial the two channels VERY differently.

All of the new modules are great and sound as good or better than anything from our favorite mod guys like JF, Salvation, SG, etc.

The SYN-002 and SYN-001 are extremely versatile products that can simply add channels to any existing amp with a series FX loop. EVERYONE wanted a SYN-001! Check out the details on that puppy and you'll be wanting one too!

On a side note, I'd never heard of Morgan amps until I starting taking with the Synergy team. His AC module sounds VERY good!
I hung out with Joe Morgan for most of the show and played all of his amps and they are SPECTACULAR!!! Just the cleanest, most organic sounding amps I've ever heard. Seek them out if you're looking for clean, vintage style amps.

Thats probably because his BE-OD pedal is better than anything that synergy line has to offer :)

I don't see what's so confusing. At any rate, I just spent 4 days at NAMM, a good portion of it at the Friedman booth. Yeah the Synergy stuff is an improvement over MTS. But that BE OD in front of a quality tube amp (Buxom Betty at NAMM) and it's game over. We were in the sound proof room, and guys were A-B ing the real BE 100 and the Betty with the BE OD pedal and it was so close it was insane.

But then would a BE synergy preamp into a tube power amp not also be close enough as the pedal?

Actually, the more I think about my own question, the more I can't understand how someone can claim a pedal through a tube amp will sound any better than an actual tube preamp BE module in a SYN1 into either the front end or FX loop of a tube amp. It is ridiculous to think that the pedal will be any better than the actual tube pre. What it is however.. is CHEAPER. That's it. So maybe the price point is what people are listening with more than anything..

I completely agree.

So, you are telling me that the same person is designing a tube preamp and a pedal to emulate the same amp and he is unable to design the tube preamp to sound as good as or better than a pedal. That makes no sense.

First of all, when I said "absolutely" i was half kidding, more or less making a joke at the MTS crowd's expense;) which I think the guy I was agreeing with was also. But it's two completely different markets. Most people aren't going to cross over into a niche market like modules. Pedals will always be here, and this is a very good alternative. And I will certainly concede that the pedal was going thru an outstanding clean amp. This is an absolute must, for sure. Synergy stuff is great, but then it was expected to be. But for an OD pedal to go toe to toe??? That's what is turning so much heads. The BE OD is marketed to the people who don't want or need (or can't afford) a full size head and don't want to break into the modular market. There are FAR more of those who just want a little piece of Dave's signature sound. It's a practical and affordable alternative. And if you have a great tube amp that likes pedals...I'm tellin ya, man. Wow.

Cool avatar BTW! Warren is my fave
