Anyone here owns a Charvel DeMartini Frenchie reissue

I have one and love it! I got it from a forum member here and have the black one. Plays like butter, sounds great, etc. So easy to play scales, etc. on. I got a great deal on mine but definitely solid. I used to have a "Blood and Skulls" DeMartini and normally like that shape better but this one is great! Pickup is a bit hot in the bridge (RTM) but sounds great.

I've had 2 of these (1 black, 1 white), totally agree, they are great guitars (consistent with most custom shop Charvels I've had).

I think the Demartini neck profile tends to be a little thinner than other Charvels (I don't tend to notice these things much, but I've heard other guys mention this before). RTM is good, I've used other pickups in my DeMartini's that have sounded great as well.

The graphics do look killer in person, and while the white one is the classic, I gotta say the black one is really stunning particularly in person (can't go wrong with either).

Very minor nits...the dinky body on these has longer horns than I remember from the 80's (I'm thinking they should be a bit stubbier, not sure if Warren's original was shaped like this, maybe it was). Also, while the functionality of the heel truss rod is great, kinda would like the original look without it. But again, that's nitpicking!

They priced these new a bit high as well, but very cool nonetheless!!

Cool!!! Thinking seriously about getting a white one.

I wouldn't get that one unless you are willing to reenact the "You're In Love" video, complete with sparkly black shirt and standing on a huge lighted stage.

LOL!! Seriously though, pull the trigger on one. You won't be disappointed. They play great and the neck pickup is great for bluesy stuff. Just enough dirt.

Just curious... what other pickups have you tried in your DeMartini's? I'm looking for pickups for a similar guitar (Charvel DK24), definitely in the same ballpark sound-wise. The SD RTM is on my short list, as is BKP Holy Diver, WCR Murkat, Suhr Aldridh, SD Concept JB, and SD Antiquity JB.

I have a black one and love it. Great sounding guitar in both the bridge and neck positions.

My favorites so far are the Arcane Luxxbucker Hot and Suhr Aldrich, but RTM is really good too. I have an RTM still in my Crossed Swords and no immediate plans to replace.

I've had the Antiquity JB in as well, really like that one a lot too, slightly takes the edge of the spikey mids of the stock JB to my ears. That comes with long mounting legs though so a little tight on the install but I've been able to get it to work. Another one I've liked is the SD Metal Fatigue (aka "Holdsworth").

Also tried the BKP Holydiver...really don't like that one at all. Good for articulate leads but rhythm playing sounds too thin and weird to me.

Great guitars! Ive had 2 and loved them! But Ive a ton and I flip them but it wasn't because of quality.
