This is the best idea! This way you can listen through your cab and see how you like it. I had the 100W version a couple of years back and it was a really nice amp. I just didn’t like carrying a 60+ lbs head to gigs and rehearsals. I did find it still had that mid honk in it. I’m not sure how the 50 EL-34 sounds. Probably not much different but a lot easier to take around. Lot’s of people really like that version.
I do know that my Stealth sounds nothing like the other ones that I have had. It is just fat, clear and full sounding without anything grating on the ears. Regardless, these amps are a great value for what you get in them. No one in the audience is going to be able to tell you aren’t using a boutique amp. I like the fact that there are a lot of artists using them as well.

that's somewhat part of my reason for wanting to look into the 50watts version of the 5150 iii. Right now I have a splawn nitro and dont get me wrong, I like the way it sounds, but its just LOUD. Just looking for something I'll get a good sound out of but with a controlable volume and small size head.PBGas":1zqeqyo1 said:
