anyone owned a ESP LTD SC-607B? vs. Schecter

hey all

looking at a ESP LTD SC-607b, baritone scale 7 string, in natural finish with EMG 707 and 81-7 pickups, comes with a hard case, upgraded sperzel locking tuners. anyone played one of these? i'm skeptical of the pickup placement. how are the higher range ESP LTD's in general? I played a matte black LP style one at GC today and it honestly sounded terrible. Trying to decide between this and the Schecter Damien-7 Elite, which I'm not so hot on the looks of but plays great and sounds awesome.

i would take the ltds any day personally. have you seen the 3 new whitechapel 7 strings that are coming out?
 
Yeah I saw those last night. I think he suicide silence guy has a flat black ESP ltd signature les Paul style 7 that looks perfect. May just go for that.
 
Pulled the trigger on a ESP MKH-7. Should have it in a week. :rock:
 
Never owned that particular model, but I've owned or played extensively higher end LTDs and Schecters. I've been far happier with the Schecters. Seems that they're just built better. Parts don't come loose, better resonance, I just like em better. Just my .02
 
I own a black 607b and I LOVE the shit out of it. I was worried about the pickup placement too, but once you lower the middle pickup it's really not that bad. I repeat: I love this damn guitar!

edit: I didn't see that you bought another guitar until after I posted :lol: :LOL: oh well. I still love my 607b :rock:

This has been my experience trying them out. I was hoping it was just the GC guitars always being played, etc. oh well. I bought the guitar through GC, I can cancel my order pretty easily.

He used to play the SC-607B...
 
I don't care about the band, I just like the guitar. have had a hard time finding a les paul shaped 7 string. not really a fan of the super strat shape that most seven strings seem to be. although the SC-607B is weird enough with the baritone neck and pickup placement that the strat shape doesnt bother me as much.
