anyone play an XTC with a 2x12?

and if so which one? Ideally I'd like an OS 2X12 but vehicle restraints may make this difficult, so any other options.

I do at home and for anything local. I use a Bogner 2x12, loaded with v30's... for your space restrictions, you might want to consider a Mesa Recto Series 2x12. I'm not usually a fan of Mesa/Boogie, but it's the smallest 2x12 cab I can think of.

I agree. I never said that it was as good as the Bogner. I just said that it was the one of the smaller 2x12's I could think of. The original poster was concerned with size. The Mesa cab is considerably smaller than the 2x12's that Bogner offers... in the U.S., at least.

I highly recommend staying away from Basson. The Eminence Legends they use in those things are about as bad as it gets!

Maybe I'm wrong on this, or misinformed; but from what I've been told, that particular Bogner cab is made for their Japanese distributor and is not available for sale outside of Japan. For example, in the US; Bogner offers only the Shiva-sized and Oversized options on their 2x12 cabinets.

I spoke to Bogner a few days ago and they mentioned another 2x12 option (fairly new). It is intended to sit under a 4x12 for a 3/4 stack kind of feel. I wonder if that 2x12 listed above is a picture of that???

there is a guy in japan that is a popular guitarist for a band named Bz. He has or had that type of set up a 4x12 with a 2x12 under it (I might be thinking of VHT on second though). but that might be why it came to Japan.

I can get those cabs. In fact im getting the 2 vertical 2x12s on tuesday for myself and picking up 2 horizontal ones to sell. I like these cabs better than the regular 2x12s. They are alot punchier and have a tighter bass responce. Also, they are front loaded so that helps.

100% disagree. I found the Mesa 2x12 to be >>> construction than the Bogner. However, I did not care for how my Classic sounded through it. The Mesa Recto cab was designed specifically for the Recto sound.....so just because it doesn't sound great with an XTC, it does not place it in an inferior class.

The Dr.Z Best is a great 2x12 cabinet. Lots of mids, sounds more vintage than the Bogner OS.
Sounds equally good vertically, so you can hear yourself better.
