I have been thinking about getting a 4x12 greenback cab with a poweramp for my fm9 since Im using a greenback ir most of the time
Curious if anyone has played this vht cab with stock greenbacks and can compare to a marshall bottom cab

I played through one years ago at Derek B's house & it was one of the warmest punchiest cabs. i loved it! sadly i never got back over to his house to hear more amps through it.

Thanks for the replies
Does it have a Marshall greenback vibe or is it its own thing?

It was Punchier than the marshall BX Cabs i've tried. We played an Engl Blackmore, The Engl Savage 120 & a Roccaforte HG 100 Through it.......i wanted to own them all. The Roccaforte through that cab was amazing & with a bastard boost covered Fear Factory Tones with ease.

I think this setup was what Billy Howerdel of APC used to run in the early days. I’m a self proclaimed cab junkie, and this is on the short list to put together. I have a quad of Greenbacks waiting for a cabinet.

as a Cab Junkie....What are your thoughts on the EVH Cabs?
Just learned in another thread that they employ a Baltic birch/pine blend instead of only birch. Not as interested now, but I realize they are pretty well regarded.

Haven’t had the chance to own one and play at high db with my other cabs to compare yet. Plenty of reports of them sounding great.

Think you saw that on TGP? I believe old Marshall’s used pine in some areas besides the main construction. My guess is that EVH cabs are built very close to old Marshall cabs in terms of where they used pine and Baltic birch backs. Then again most modern cabs have birch backs. Friedman uses birch for the entire cabinet.
