Charvel won't have Stainless Frets. Big difference in feel
I've had guitars with both and if I was blindfolded, no way I could tell the difference. I don't see how I could, but I'll take your word that you can...
Steve
I can feel a difference, bends and vibrato are way smoother on stainless steel frets for me.
I'll take your word on this, but I don't notice bends or vibrato being any smoother with stainless frets.
Steve
Well, you are definitely in the minority.
How would you know? Have you performed blindfolded tests with hundreds of guitarists?
Steve
Thats the first thing I noticed after getting my wolfgang refretted with SS wire. Very smooth bends with little to no drag. I will say that not all NS wire is created equal. Current Dunlop wire seems to be soft as hell. My wolfgangs (2003) and Jackson (2009) all needed to be refretted within 4 years of use. My old Hamer's, Washburn N4, and Kramer Stagemaster from the mid 80's to '91 have been played for decades and barely need a dressing... The only difference I feel is the drag on the frets. New NS wire wears out FAST!!!
The wolf's have five years on the SS wire and theres no fretwear at all!!! Love it!!!
