i also have a dual modded lynch box 100 head.

i dunno but that one sure sounds different from my mod100 and my friends hammet version of the rm100

on my lynch box i had to run the presence down and the depth almost all the way up to get the same oomph as the same exact modules run on the other heads.

i am pretty sure the lynch box power section was tweaked towards lynch's preferences just like the hammet 100 is a little different from the standard rm100 in the power section.

What's the difference between the Mod50 and say RM50? I have a Lynch Box I still play but i have to admit i find it lacking in the depth and fullness department compared to other amps I have. That said, the judge is a great module as is the Friedman Brahma and I am hoping getting one of those salvation MDA presence boards will help open the amp up because tone wise, it can def. hang. $HIT $HIT effects loop though. How do you guys run your effects? Wet/Dry?
Was told that lynch preferred the rm100 transformer over the Egnater transformers.

You use to be able to get the RM100 modded to use dual channel eggy modules. The RM50 didn't have enough room or something like that.

I believe Bruce will still do the mod to the RM100. I also believe the limiting factor in converting is MIDI, which the RM50 doesn't have and the RM100 does. That's my understanding, but I could be wrong.

I, personally, prefer the MOD100 to the RM100. I had the modification done to the RM100 and decided to just keep the MOD100, but my favorite modular amp is the MOD50.

The Jaded Faith Foglifter will do wonders for this issue.

I play an Axe-fx II through a power amp live these days simply because its both my bass AND guitar rig for different bands, but the only other amp I own is the Mod 50. I won't get rid of it ever pending unfortunate financial troubles. VX module and EG3/4x module. Still love both of them to death. The EG3/4x module sounds a ridiculous amount like the Axe-fx's VH4 channel 3 sim.

I used to own an M4 and the EG3/4 module is easily, one of my favorite tones of all time. It might be the only piece of gear I really regret selling. I was surprised at the decision to put all their eggs in the import basket. I never had any interest in any of those products. I would love a Mod50 right now. They should have kept making modules for those amps.

I had a Mod 50 with several modules and just didn't gel with it.

Near the end of my romance with the modular line and, more specifically, the MOD50, I was finding the amp became really spongy after 2 hours at stage volume and it lost a lot of its punch. Has any other MOD50 user ever noticed this?

Not to mention, like everyone else, I was spending way too much time fiddling and tweaking instead of just playing the damn guitar.
Yup......+100

I owned 5 different MTS amps at different times. 2 Lynch Boxes, Mod 50, Mod 100 and custom RM100.
It was fun....but got pricey fast with me always wanting different modded modules. More of 'thrill of the chase' on that amp.
fun to play but I was always screwing with the settings....drove my band nuts.

Don't forget about the endless rolling of preamp tubes through the modules as well. It just got tiring.

I never even bothered to change out the stock preamp tubes. I basic all bought the amp on the strength of the BMan and SL2 modules. Other modules were just a bonus. Granted, I'm not a tweaker at all really.

I found that the modules retained their most distinct flavor they were patterned after with the stock tubes.

Once you started mucking around with tubes, they started to sound more like not as good variations of other models.

So i stick with the stock sovtek or eh.
