I kinda like that throaty wha sound he gets. Looks like a cool pedal but it seems like it's already discontinued. Anybody try one? Opinions?

I own one, and I also modded two other crybabies so that they had the same specs as the Wylde Wah. It’s a great Wah pedal. I don’t remember the specs, but the Wylde Wah has the widest frequency throw, compared to the Cantrell Wah, GB95, and just about every other Dunlop Wah...except for the Petrucci Wah.
One of the cooler features is that there is a “choke” on the axle that allows you to set the heel down position to stop where you want it. For years, we would tape 2-4 dimes on the back of the wah, under the treadle, so that the bass would accentuate a certain frequency. On the Wylde Wah, you can simply tighten a screw and it stops the treadle wherever you want. And you save 40 cents!!!

I have one, but I haven't used it in ages. I have to break it out of the drawer again sometime soon to give it another go! My biggest issue with the wah was that when plugged into AC rather than using a battery, there was significant hiss/hum added to the signal chain (despite using an isolated Trex supply). I didn't feel like adding my noise gate to the chain just to use it, so off it came.
It has a very wide sweep, which can be good or bad depending on your tastes. I found I liked about 30% of the sweep in the middle range, and then toe down or heel up was too much in either direction for me to find useful. However, I've literally tried like 4 wahs ever, and not really a wah guy to begin with, so take my opinion with a grain of salt! Cheers

Love this one! No question vs a crybaby, have not tried the other sig whas so it may be in line with some of the others. This one with a BE100 is titts and beer! The mids are great when the toe is al the way down. It actually is still warm in my opinion and not spikey in this position, like the perfect mid boost tone with some highs and able to add the wha effect as well. Hate its discontinued. Had mine for a a while and would definitely replace. Hope the new line is as good but ain't holdin my breath. As other user posted it is a noisy bastard , it's much easier with a looper platform as u get in and instantly out with less noise and its isolated when not in use.

Wasn't Dave supposed to come out with a Friedman wah? What I find funny is that all these crybabies are probably 4-5 part values off of each other and maybe a fasel. No complaints though, they do what they do and I still like my modded crybaby and the awesome mini cry baby more than anything else I have tried.

I had one. Really liked the tone and the frequency of the sweep. The only reason I didn't keep it was it doesn't have a led for on/off. I found it really hard to feel when it's on or off.
I had the Slash Wah (not the 95W), that one sounded really good to me as well, and it's got the led I needed. Sold it only because the Kemper wahs are good enough for me.

Personally not here. But I've played and owned all the other off-shoot sig WAHs that Mr. Dunlop has laid upon us. Don't even waste your time with the Slash junk. Just listen to Slash using it and you'll know what I mean. Either way, Zakk knows very little about WAH pedals, so I'm not sure why he's even got a sig Dunlop WAH (other than $$$ endorsements). But when it comes to squealing killer pinch harmonics and the ultimate vibrato, then Mr. Wylde is king of rock (almost as good as Darrell Lance Abbott).Fragglerick":2jd8pf2n said:
IMHO, you want the most "throaty" and most "dynamic sweep" Dunlop has to offer in a WAH pedal, then try this guy out, you won't be disappointed. It sports the "Halo inductor" which is slightly more dynamic than that of the Dunlop Classic (GCB95F) with "Fasel inductor" - plus it's so very purdy.

I have the Petrucci wah. Has a very wide sweep to it, more than the Wylde. Its forte is high gain. Not for for cleans at all.
