Just curious if it's loud enough (clean) to be heard over a fairly loud drummer (when pushing a 2x12 or 4x12). Most reviews I've seen say they are but a few say not.

Sound good with the AX8?

You can barely see the EH44 on top of my speaker cab. Note that I wasn't playing guitar oriented music and the PA was awesome. I've used this EH44 Magnum / Zoom G3 setup for these kinds of sideman gigs for many years.

On a side note, I'll still be using my CLR on stage as a monitor and sending a line to FOH. I just want a cab for a backline to fill that void. The other guitarist is hogging the stage sound...plus I just want that traditional 'feel' of a regular cabinet behind me
yeah I've considered that along with an ART, Rocktron, and a Quilter. I honestly just want something that'll fit in one of the zip up compartments in my Furman pedalboard soft case. That's why the ISP, Mag44, and the Quilter seem to be top on my radar. I just want to do this on a budget being that I already spent $900 on the CLRDrew":2plaivb3 said:Lord Toneking":2plaivb3 said:I'm also interested if this will sound good with my ax8 and a 2x12 cab. With a loud rock band, it may not have enough headroom. It gets loud but really does not get any louder after 11:00 on the dial. It just sorta compresses after that point. If you already have CLR in the rig, it may be fine.
I found the ISP Stealth and the 44 Magnum to be about the same with volume/headroom. You might also consider a Carvin DCM200L if you don't mind a rack unit. It's very light--like 4 lbs.

The thing about the EH 44 Magnum is the power supply is bigger than the pedal. It's like a laptop power supply (you can see it on the floor in the lower left of my pic above) and the power supplies are less than sturdy. In 6+ years of using it, I'm on my 3rd power supply. Electro Harmonix replaces them for $25. But having said that, I'm still using the EH 44 a lot and even on gigs where I'm not using it, it goes in a small bag as part of my backup rig.

I found it used on reverb and made an offer. It's mint though, even the power supply looks like it was never unwrapped.BrokenFusion":1x3ol7az said:Lord Toneking":1x3ol7az said:GProbably the best $115 I've ever spent![]()
