For guys that have acoustics, anyone using 11's? are they too light, do they sound like poo? Im finking that my wrist is strained after acoustic sessions...don't wanna hurt myself
I actually used the hybrid set os elixers. Extra light top and light bottom. I went back to the lights. They sounded better to me. On electrics. it doesn't make much difference in tone to me, but I thought it made a difference on the acoustic. I also tried the GHS coated strings and it made even more of a difference. The Elixers sounded way better. Bu tthe extra lights were easier to bend. But in the end, I felt the trade off for the ease of bending wasn't worth the sacrifice in tone.
Thanks for the input schaf, just out of curiosity what kind of acoustic do you have? I put 11's on this afternoon since the post this morning and there is def a loss of tone but the playability is better, they are brighter as well, maybe more brittle sounding but not aweful, gonna leave them on for a few days and see, using d'addario EXP strings, theyre pretty nice strings...

I have and Alverez and a Taylor. The Elixers sound quite a bit better. I'm a GHS fan and really wanted to like the EXP's. The GHS's are quite a bit cheaper, too. If you must use the lighter strings I would most definitely go with the elixers. They'll sound more full.
