Anyone working on a parts guitar??

Sometimes when the GAS hits I start mixing and matching all the spare necks and bodies and whatnot that I have laying around instead of buying new stuff.

This is my current project. I’m too tired to solder it up tonight, but other than that it’s good to go I think

Carvin Bolt kit body
Warmoth 59’ profile neck
Babicz bridge and some EMG Marty Friedman pickups

I think it’s going to come out pretty sweet.

Can’t decide on knobs yet though…


What else are you guys working on??

Yes. Always working on a partscaster! Right now it's a Tokai love rock special in baby shit yellow. I routed out the body to take stacked noiseless p90s. Can't wait until I actually have time to finish it

Frankencarvin looks badass! The babicz always looks killer with a strat.
 
Mine is pretty much finished.
Still deciding on pick guard and whether I want two pups or not?
Have a four way switch and Emerson cap coming in the mail for it.
See what it sounds like with pseudo humbucker setting?
Just picked up the case last weekend for $50.

MJT light relic body.
Fender American replacement neck from 2011.
Fralin pups.

nice! I think I prefer the single pickup look the most, but I do end up missing a neck pickup on some of my singles

Cool looking guitar! I went on a knurled metal knob spree years ago but went back to plain ole Strat knobs for Strats. So if you decide on knurled chrome or possibly black knurled knobs hit me up. I’ve got quite a few just sitting in plastic bags.
 
Always... Waiting for body and neck from musikraft for strat build. Also, waiting on 92 build from Sully guitars.
 
I have a Kramer mutt coming in a few days, I guess that counts as sort of a parts guitar. Probably needs work on the frets and the electronics, and I need to settle on one hardware color instead of all three that´s on there now ☺️

Love it. Needs a sc in the neck though.
 
This is my latest build and I'm using it with a cover band I joined.

Specs:

Maple neck with SS6105 frets, standard thin profile, 10-16 radius. Body is extra light Alder. Pups are TV Jones classic in neck and classic plus in bridge, Wilkinson trem. This guitar has been working out real, real good....

That’s sweet man. The Carvin body I had came with a Wilkinson but I have no idea where the hell it went lol.

TV Jones are killer.
 
Guess I’ll add mine. Had some gas for a tele as I’ve never had one before. Starting with a MJT pine body and hardware kit, fender custom shop 51 nocaster bridge pickup, Eldridge wiring kit(because I was too lazy to buy the individual pots and caps.) Esquire white pickguard, and nitro finished all parts neck. Just waiting for the neck to arrive so I can mount the control panel and pickguard. Also waiting on an electrojack cup to use instead of the junk stock tele cup mjt included in the hardware kit.

I build a parts Precision bass earlier this year that I dig the shit out of. I also have a Precision Guitar Works SG junior kit to build as well as a mahogany tele body I need to stain (and get a neck for).

Just need more time in the day, or just to quit my day job.

I kinda am. I gotta cheap Ibanez LP shaped guitar that I'm looking to get all new hardware and tuners for, I already swapped out the stock bridge pickup for a JB, but the neck pickup sounds fine as is.
 
I have an 30 yr old Warmoth that I recently started a facelift on. Pics when it's buttoned up.
