I believe myself to have been a top 100 player in Goldeneye for n64 in the facility, using power weapons

I'm not that good or have twitch reflexes so I just mainly focus on strategy. Part of the reason I was top 100 in COD was just strategy and maneuvering and also finding glitches or exploiting the game.
In COD I was one of the first and one of the few to exploit the smoke and hybrid/thermal. So I would place claymores in my Blindspots and just go straight into the enemy and Blitzkrieg and/or hunker down. Throw smoke, use the thermal and I could see them but they couldn't see me. This with Scavanger let me refill up on smokes, claymore and ammo and I could wipe out up to half a team or a full team before they got me or would go through a team a full time or twice before they got me.
Could bring down entire teams doing this and at one point it got another team so upset I remember they switched to just throwing C4 blindly into smoke but it would never really work as a counter. Dudes would even switch to full riot shield and come at me with two riot shields and other back up and it still wouldn't work especially with claymores in my blindspots.
It would be even more fucked when they incorporated a deployable riot shield into the game....... once they did that it Judy made my game even better with the smoke/thermal/claymores combo.....
Probably the only guys that were able to beat me in the game and really get me nasty around my strategy was a team of actual Marines in a Cyber War match that was essentially Search and Destroy but you can revive your dead if they fall.
Dudes were insane, I would plant the bomb, set up claymores around it, throw down my deployable riot shield, throw smoke on the bomb site...... these fucking Marines would go in sight unseen even with my thermal/smoke, get past the claymores undetected and diffuse the bomb. They ended up winning 3 out of 5 but it got down to the wire.
The strategy worked at first and it really gave them hell the whole match but MoFos really put up a good game.
The Marines were so damn good and they brought out something else in me too playing on that level but I gave them a run for their money and I almost won that game it was down to the wire to the end, had there been some more competitive guys on the team I could have won but overall it was still fun and I'll probably never forget that one. Dudes were legit Marines playing the game and they were the best I ever played against.
