Mark, you're pushing too much tone I keep telling you. Now its your battery packs? Holee!

seriously though, have you used the Intellfex before? I think they are a more reliable unit than the TC, even though I own the TC.

Lol. Yes I have tried an Itellifex, many, many years ago. Great unit, but I don't think it does spillover, that is a big thing for me. I can't do without it.
I know the Expression does do spillover. I wish they didn't have those damn wallwarts.
Mark

Replifex does spillover.

So whats a good Apple computer to get?

If you want a nice mac that won't break the bank, get a mac mini, it has the option to run two screens like the mac pro, or if you want to go all out and get a great mac for thousands of dollars, get a Mac pro tower, great computer for video and audio and everything else!

This is my PC video card: Quadro FX 5800 Graphics Card - 4GB GDDR3 SDRAM 512bit

Its already 15 months old and I run it on Adobe CS5, primarily on the Mercury Playback Engine for rendering, so useful to be able to scrub through video prior to rendering, especially in real time.

The next version of this card is out and sporting 6 GB.

MAC is a very stable platform, but a few years behind when it comes to cutting edge brute force. I hear that Intel is dieing up Xeon's for Apple?
I agree. PCs are where it's at for straight up power and obviously gaming, but Apple provides a unique and fluent user interface that is unbeatable! I'll be sticking with Apple for a long time for my recording setup and laptop needs. Might build a gaming pc someday too.

My gamers have been typically Dual Xeon machines, same for my editors. It will be great to see Xeons crunching Mac OS apps for a change. The Macs will be able to run bigger Video cards etc. nVidia just released Mac drivers for their FX4800 card, (1.5 GB) so at least PC's are setting the stage for R&D and Apple goes the slow and steady route.

Steve and Bill should have lunch sometime.

When my MacBook Pro logic board died, after having it for only 2 years, I got the worst customer service from the Apple Store. I was in the market for a Mac Pro and instead opted to just build a Hackintosh. In the end I built a $5000 Mac Pro for $1600. I love OS X but I am not a fan of Apple and their proprietary hardware that they mark up through the roof.

Apple rocks! Love my iPhone and MacBook. Best choices of my life!

I like apple products but have had the exact opposite service from their customer service dept. When I had the original Iphone, it never worked and I basically stopped using it out of frustration. A few years later someone told me to call them because their service was so great. I did. The guy basically told me to go F myself and that the phone was too old and out of warranty. I suppose that my fault. I told him I believed it was out of warranty. He was very rude and told me, that "had I bought Applecare for it he could have helped me." At that point I realized that I had. When I told him that, he sounded deflated and checked my account, and it turned out that I had like a week left of care and he had to send me another phone, which he did. I sold it immediately. Bottom line is that awesome service from apple is not the norm. It is rare, and only if you are paying out the ass for it. I have owned 3 ipods, an iphone and a macbook pro. This has always been the case. The only time they are ever helpful is when you are in the store buying something.

Many online surveys and consumer reports say the exact opposite and they tend to have a wider sampling than internet anecdotal evidence...

True. I know dozens of people that have Apple products and have never once heard a person complain about Apple customer service. As a matter of fact, it's very odd to me to hear someone even mention that Apple has bad customer service. Strange for sure.

And your point is what? I am not the only person here not joining the Apple customer service sheep fest. I said it is good only if you pay out the ass for it. That should be the case. If you are satisfied with that, that good for you. I believe a company should have good customer support....period. I also stopped using Itunes very early on. I hated Apple's business practices and related customer service. Amazon opened and it was night and day and I was with them from then on. They were cheaper, better and had better service. Like I said, I have had at least 5 Apple products and there are plenty of new ones that peak my interest, but it is their service that also makes me rethink the purchase.
