Anyone have any suggestions on how to craft some atmospheric effects? I am after a dark sound to be used as something like an interlude between songs. Any help or suggestion will be appreciated! thanks!

I really enjoyed the youtube video, code001. I am a DT fan and a John Petrucci fan as well. I've always been fascinated with his rig. On a side note, I found this video that made me almost pee myself laughing. I though I'd share it.

Yeah, I have seen that before, I love the part where he's like "this button sets off landmines under the stage, blow up up people"chalnger86":f9ece said:So far good suggestions! i appreciate it. I've got my T.C. G Major on the task now...I really like the idea that zachman posted. Problem is, the G doesn't have a reverse reverb on it. I also have an RP7 from digitech, but same problem. Not to mention I don't have a trem on any of my guitars.I guess I'm SOL with that one.
I wish there was an FX unit that had similar functions to a sampler; e.g. oscillators, LFO's, and things of that nature. I've been able to craft some really interesting sounds in Reason. I know I could get a guitar-to-MIDI translator and actually use a synth, but I kinda feel like that's almost cheating, not to mention I don't have that kind of cash. SOoo, just trying to work with what I have here. I've played around and got some pretty nice sounding presets. I don't remember what all I've got going on though. My rigs at the studio. when I get a chance, I'll write it down and post them. Alway looking for suggestions though! Thanks!
As for the video I found, there are more from that user...I think the one I posted is the funniest, but he's got other one's he's done with Ynwie and John and such...check them out.

I have heard of the Fractal audio unit. It looks intriguing. The price tag stops me from trying it though.
Does the SPX90 have a reverse rev on it? It's been a long while since I've used that little gem.
How does the Ebow work? I've heard that it can add lots of sustain to your guitar if used the right way? I really don't know anything about it though.

I'd love to get my hands on a SPX90. Kow anyone that's selling a used one? Awww, who am I kidding...unless they're selling for under fifty bucs I'm out. God i'm broke.

Too bad the shipping is 30 freaking bucs!
