I'm looking at some options for lower volume at home with the JSX head. The master is somewhat decent, but the amp has that sizzle until the power amp catches up with the preamp. I'm thinking an attenuator would let me hit a sweeter spot without getting ridiculous. I'm looking at the 200 watt Weber Mass. Again, I'm just looking to tame it a little, not dime the volume and get crazy..

I have the Mass 200. It has worked very well for me. To be honest, it's the only way I can play my Quickrod at home.

I have the Fryette Power Station. Just recently tried it to attenuate my amps. Been mainly using it to power modelers.

I have the Rockcrusher Recording. It works well, but max load is 120W, so if you have something larger than a 100W head, it might not work for you.

Fryette Power Station.

EPIC gear purchase.

Makes my 100W Marshalls bedroom quiet with all the tone delivery of a cranked up amp.

Only thing missing is moving air and the dynamics that come with that.

Weber has a special going on now, 10% off tonight and tomorrow.

I actually just picked up a Mass 200. Seems pretty neat. It's my first attenuator, but it seems like there isn't really much of a noticeable attenuation until about 2 on the speaker volume setting, then it starts to really dump volume. Of course I can hear a difference in volume from 10 to 3, but it doesn't change to a different volume tier until about 2 IMO. I have my 100w Marshall plugged into it, and with the MV on 3, it doesn't get to "don't disturb the kids watching tv a few rooms away" until 2 or less on the Weber. Do you have the same experience with it? Also, I noticed that it starts to have a "hot components" smell after about 30 minutes of playing, coming straight from the Weber, which I assume is the attenuation components dissipating the power in the form of heat, but just figured I would check that this is normal behavior after about 30 minutes of play.

I use either a Ultimate or Unleash to get good TV level volume out of 50W amps. On stage they are good because I can use the 2nd channel as a solo volume boost.

I was using a Rivera Rock Crusher.
Great piece of hardware and built like a tank.

Its collecting dust since I added a master volume to my super lead.

I have an Unleash and a Power Station 2. Love them both. Blows the Weber Mass away.

THD makes a good one. ton's of options. works really well for my MKII for loud volumes even.

Agree. Can't beat a Hot Plate.

Unless you need more than 8dB of attenuation IMHO.

Badcat Unleash. Effects loop, two footswitchable volumes, can attenuate or boost. Sold my Fryette P/S because of it.
