Fuck me running. That guitar is a total bad ass.
There is no way a person would have a bad day looking/owning that axe.:2thumbsup:

Looks like swollen asshole, bet it plays like a million bucks.

This is probably where they got their inspiration from though:

Looks damn good to me. I dig the shape and don't think its weird at all ! The quality looks off the charts in the photos. Nice score

That's totally not how I was expecting it to look to be honest but it does like very cool!

It seems weird guitars attract weird comments haha. This guy's a "warbird enthusiast". Planes are cool and all, but I guess he doesn't understand metaphors and that things can be named after other things. WTF does an F14 Tomcat have to do with cats? Nothing. It's just a cool name.

Arrived safe and sound. Definitely needs a setup. The action is suuuuuper low and I think it's strung with 11-56 even though the previous owner said 10s. Hard to tell. But it plays great and the neck is super comfy. Has a few small scratches in the clear coat that the seller didn't mention, but for a used custom guitar that's been through a few owners, I'm happy with the deal.

Pickups aren't bad. I have no clue what they are. Searching back through the history of the guitar, I think they're Guitarmory Polaris. Never heard of them. They kind of sound like BKP. Very clear, tight, smooth mids. Not as much growl and lower-mids as Lundgrens. They appear to be mounted differently than most pickups. The mounting bracket doesn't have the little dog-leg L bend. The bracket extends straight out and flush from the bottom of the pickup. And it's screwed directly into the body wood without a spring or spacer. So it's sitting flush against the body. No way to adjust it higher/lower. So I guess I'm stuck with em?

I don't think it's weird, it looks like the Kiesel SCB shape which has always been cool

I dig it, happy NGD
Kinda reminds me of what a Jackson Chris Broderick would look like if it was a Tele based shape
Enjoy!

It looks better in your picture than the original post.

Weird about the pickups. I hate when routes are shallow and I can’t get to the desired height. Are you sure there’s no foam? I’ve had pickups that were sat in the same position for years and the foam loses its springiness, so it doesn’t spring back when I try to get the pickups closer.

It's not that I want to adjust the pickup height and can't. It's that the mounting method appears different than normal pickups. So if I want to swap pickups, it'll be an issue. Unless... what I'm seeing is an illusion because the covers extend down to the same plane as the brackets. That could be it. Normally the brackets extend down from the pickup body and then bend 90 degrees outward. But on these pickups, the mounting bracket simply extends straight out from the side of the pickup instead of downward.

It's most likely just an illusion. I'll have to have a closer look.
